As for coalitions, I don’t think we can overstate how important it is to recognize Biden is eating into Sanders’ coalition from 2016 this time around. And the same people he is getting, white working class voters, are also the same people that ended up predominantly switching from Sanders to Trump in 2016. There are data that support the idea that Biden is stronger than Clinton (perhaps in a higher turnout primary alone, but still). The idea that we should look at the temperament of the candidates ignores the fact very few people outside the Democratic Party like Sanders’ temperament. And that 2018 coalition that delivered us the House Majority showed up overwhelmingly for Biden this time. Hopefully, it’s a good sign for things to come.
Yes, I think even though I'm going to hold my nose and vote for him this fall hoping Biden's going to attract those working class voters that Hillary lost in places like Michigan. Also hoping he will get a significant amount of the Never Trumpers, who see Bernie as too far left.

Doesn't seem like the market are roaring back as anticipated.

Mitch McConnell is a cancer who has enough psychopathic insight into the weaknesses of America's democracy to bend it to his will. It's always a risk when electing a younger candidate. JFK got conned into the Bay of Pigs by the military.

If Biden selects Harris as his VP and wins, then later retires and it's Harris vs Lori Lightfoot for the next primary that matters, I suspect from what I've seen of the latter that I'll be a champion for Lightfoot. But in this moment, with Warren having burned bridges with bernie supporters and coming from a state with a Republican governor, I suspect Harris is the best pick.
Obama worked a lot from Chicago, and to be honest, for what its worth Chicago politics and Springfield politics, than into the Senate operate, or did, for the most part, the same. I do you a solid, you'll help me out later on X,Y, or Z bill. Here, in Illinois that's pretty much how we've always operated. Everyone, regardless of the letter next to their name, for the most part, at the very least operates on a "do good for society ". Example, our former governor blocked a bill for education, even Republicans turned on him badly. When we had an outbreak of west Nile virus, pretty much our states reps all agreed on passing legislation to ensure the health of the state.

Yes issues regarding Chicago persist, but for the most part reps get along for bigger issues. That's where he was coming from and why he tried to do what he did. It's only that Congress isn't like that, so yeah the roae tinted glasses had to come off.

I do not see Lightfoot leaving the city any time soon for going to try for president. She has a lot to fix here first. Duckworth would be a good option too for a future run, if she tried.

We might see more mail-in votes than ever before, with people not wanting to stand in line and get infected.

Trump is about to talk again and the sell-off is starting again.

It was up 6-700, then he announced he was going to address the nation, and now it's around 300.

The machine behind Biden is proving itself to be pretty darn impressive... I think the only thing keeping which will hinder Biden at this point is Biden himself.

He's done a more than fair job of mobilizing the democratic party behind him. And that alone justifies him as being the guy to go against trump. But all that work is potentially flushed down the toilet if he forgets what day of the week it is when he's on stage against Trump. I think any debates he will have with Bernie will be a solid test of whether or not the democrats made a huge mistake here. If he can go 2 hours with Bernie and not shoot himself in the foot, he can go 2 hours with Trump. Biden doesn't even have to do great or even average... he just needs to NOT come off as senile. If he doesn't completely self implode and can keep it together well enough for 2 hours, he's got a good shot. Better than anyone else at least.

Not to mention his inability to recall what day of the week it is, or what he position he happens to be campaiging for.

But all that said, there are still valid reasons to come to the conclusion that Biden is the more electable candidate. The democrats at least seem to feel that's the case.
Biden can remind voters that there was BIPARTISAN support to impeach Trump over making up those charges, thanks to Romney. It can backfire a lot easier than criticizing Bernie over the insane amount of baggage Sanders carries around.

I find it interesting that the polls indicate that Florida turns a lot of conventional wisdom about the Sanders support on its head. Not only go LatinX there for Biden (probably largely because they cannot stomach a Castro buddy) - the youth vote could be Biden's too. Decisively so.

Even in the youth demographic fueling the Sanders movement nationwide, the support doesn’t translate inn Florida. Among voters age 18 to 29 in Florida, 69% favor Biden and less than 16% prefer Sanders.

The poll was taken between March 6 and March 8. Pollsters report a 2% margin of error.

New Arizona poll: Biden the electable Democrat in 2020 race

A new poll shows Biden leading President Donald Trump in a head-to-head matchup by 6 points. However, the same poll shows Trump beating Sen. Bernie Sanders by 7 points.

Depending on what happens on Tuesday, the April primaries may not matter any way.

Wait, wait, wait, on the last one. WHAT?! Seriously?! That's right up there with some of the weird things that I heard creationists spouting.

Also the AOC thing may explain why she hasn't been pushing for him on her tweets.

In his defense, that was many decades ago, when he was 60 or something.
