Emerson is, at the same time, one of the most Trump and most Sanders pollsters.

The USA Today poll from the same day has Sanders falling behind, 6 points less than Biden.

In the survey taken Thursday through Sunday, Biden was backed by 25% of likely Democratic caucusgoers, ahead of Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders at 19%; former South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg at 18%; Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren at 13%; and Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar at 6%.
... and that is with very little Rogangate effect in there, as only one of the 4 days of polling was done after Sanders' campaign pissed off minorities.

You're not getting policies, you're getting a candidate with all their strengths, flaws and history. Policies only get so far as the people being able to push them are with negotiation and Bernie Sanders loses in that contest with candidates like Warren and Klobuchar - who are known for passing legislation.

A tactic which has shown more progress than not giving an inch like Bernie Sanders' willingness to not compromise, or the fact he's relying on doing that while focusing on activists pressuring congress against the who oppose him. What's jarring is how Sanders campaign is embracing the extreme right, as well, as Rogan shows.
Video: Bernie Sanders once appeared on Lou Dobbs show after voting against Ted Kennedy's immigration bill. Sanders agreed with Dobbs that immigrants stole American jobs and drove down wages.

Of note, Joe Biden voted FOR the immigration bill.

I heard Bernie is leading in Iowa, according to the Real Clear Politics average (which I typically use for races to get the best picture). I haven't verified this claim (as I'm frankly not invested one way or another being an independent), so someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm sorry but that is not true. Alan Ryan puts it that Socialism is advocacy for social ownership of industry, to make the poor richer and the rich poorer to create a classless society, which is a central element in socialism. And that the modern welfare state (such as SS like programs) is shifting income across different stages in life, not for shifting income across classes. Another distinct difference is that social insurance does not aim to transform work and working relations. No matter how much you make, you pay the same percentage in the SS payroll tax (a basic flat tax). It is not meant to create a class less system which is the focus of socialism. Socialism is a loaded term that is rarely used correctly in the U.S.'s polarized political spectrum.

So a thought occured to me today.

Is the reason the USA is such a hotbed of conflict when it comes to abortion due to how heavily religious it is ? Cause the UK is pretty secular and we just dont give anywhere near as much of a **** as you guys do.

We were founded by religious extremists who fled Europe when their extremism got their faiths banned, and used violence, torture, and lies to spread the love of God. And in the ‘good ol’ days’ that Republicans myopically long for, God was on our side ‘because’ women, immigrants, coloreds and queers knew their place.

So yeah. The abortion issue (and women’s rights in general), the LGBTQ+ issues, the ever-present immigration issues that plague a nation MADE by immigrants...all stem from that intrinsic, twisted distillation of religion + violence + delusion.

Our relationship with religion is both uniquely inherent in our nations origins (unless there are other nations specifically forged from both the violent conquest by, and propagandistic delusions built around religious extremists fleeing ‘persecution’ for their beliefs), and deeply twisted due to the hate, lies, and bloodshed that accompanied the spread of that religious fervor from East to West, consuming and trampling everything in its way.

Edit: To be clear, while I think all religion is hogwash, I don’t think faith is inherently bad. Some people need to believe, and that’s fine, if that belief makes them a better, whole person who contributes to the greater good because of that faith. But I think it’s clear that the melange of extremist faiths that were held by the people who settled America and started wiping out the natives in various horrifying ways (ranging from kidnapping children and brainwashing them against their own people, to torturing them into conversion, to straight up deliberate genocide to get the heathens out of the way since God clearly forgot to) were absolute offensive bullshit that ran counter to EVERY word taught by the man they pretended (and still pretend) to call God, and spent WAY too long being romanticized by right wing, racist propaganda drummed into generation after generation of vulnerable young minds.

    That's impressive.
    To put it simply...

    https://www.cnn.com/2019/03/07/polit...ors/index.html

Biden in 1993 speech pushing crime bill warned of 'predators on our streets' who were 'beyond the pale'
"We have predators on our streets that society has in fact, in part because of its neglect, created," said Biden, then a fourth-term senator from Delaware so committed to the bill that he has referred to it over the years as "the Biden bill."

"They are beyond the pale many of those people, beyond the pale," Biden continued. "And it's a sad commentary on society. We have no choice but to take them out of society."

In the speech, Biden described a "cadre of young people, tens of thousands of them, born out of wedlock, without parents, without supervision, without any structure, without any conscience developing because they literally ... because they literally have not been socialized, they literally have not had an opportunity." He said, "we should focus on them now" because "if we don't, they will, or a portion of them, will become the predators 15 years from now."
That sounds like something Tucker Carlson would say.

If you are calling for a party without the likes of Rogan in it, you should certainly ask yourself if the person who said what is in blue should have a place in the party.

Never mind that it's way worse than the Sander's quote that is supposedly going to hurt him.

Progressives: "Well, we need to compromise to win the election, so compromise is totally ok now!"
The thing is, for the better part of the last year we've been hearing about how we need to run a candidate that can appeal to a broader demographic, that can reach those disaffected voters. Sanders is literally doing that without compromising his values, and now we get bungling attempts to knee cap him and concern trolling over being endorsed by neckbeards.

Look it's fine to not like Sanders or Rogan or whoever, but it's self defeating to pretend winning over the opposition or middle of the road folks is somehow a bad thing.
