Biden campaign is unwilling to disclose their Senate records and papers. However, they do have operatives going through the records to try to release evidence of Biden’s innocence.

It looks like they are just trying to prevent a circumstance like what happened with Hillary’s emails. They disclose this stuff to the media and they might be able to move on from Reade. But then they might be able to seize on new information that could be twisted into a story.

Ehh...there has never been any evidence that a VP candidate improves performance with particular states. It will, however, help the ticket perform with particular voting blocs. Kamala Harris, Amy Klobauchar, and Elizabeth Warren all represent particular constituencies that Biden would probably want to run up good performances with. I wouldn’t count them out just because they aren’t from a swing state. Especially since Biden sold himself as the candidate who could reach white working class voters who swung towards Trump.

Trump says more federal aid for N.J. a ‘tough question’ during White House meeting with Murphy

Gov. Phil Murphy made a plea for more federal coronavirus assistance directly to President Donald Trump during a meeting Thursday at the White House.
But Trump was noncommittal, saying it was a “tough question” about whether to provide the funding.

Murphy said the hit to New Jersey by the coronavirus could be $20 billion to $30 billion, and federal aid was needed to make up for the losses.

There's another reason Biden won't go with Warren. She's 70 years old. With the almost constant questions about Biden's age and health, he needs to pick someone significantly younger than himself.

Actually, it shouldn't be all that tough. Any other president, Democrat or Republican, would have agreed and said that the federal government will work with the states, will work something out to help them during this crisis.

The Biden camp needs to get ahead on this mess and, more importantly, STAY head of it all. It stands to reason the GOP smear machine is gearing up to launch attacks, you just KNOW Trump is eager to wade into the mudpit, he was willing to risk removal from office on the Ukraine mess to go after Biden, the slopfest with Reade will be grist for Trump's mill.

You'd think Drano Don would be quick to help New Jersey, after all, one of his golf clubs (Bedminster) is in the state. Unfortunately, Trump can't get past his loathing for blue states, otherwise there wouldn't have been all that hesitation.

They already have launched attack ads about it from the Trump War Room. There is no self-awareness at all that the ads being launched to smear Biden for one allegation that looks fishy is in service of a candidate credibly accused of sexual assault over a dozen times.

The issue, of course, is Reade has made it really difficult. Her window of the assault is anywhere from March of 1993 to May of 1993. That’s a lot of ground to cover, especially since she has changed the location of the assault multiple times—which is startling because the descriptions of the locations were always incredibly vague. It’s gonna be hard to prove the negative case that he didn’t do anything. It will take time. I’m sure journalists have it—but how long until they go “ah ha! Wall Street mentions” and try to make Biden into the candidate of the banks against the “common man” billionaire president we have now? They have to be smart.

Some writers would. I highly doubt her father would. But there are people who are willing to say that just because it sticks to their narrative.

Oh I know the answer. His name starts with a T right and ends with a rump. Indeed we truly do live in strange times and getting stranger.

I wonder if it has to do more with sticking it to Cuomo. Doesn't the NJ governor have a good working relationship with Cuomo now vs. what Christie had a few years ago?

Trump has no love of NJ. He made a mess in Atlantic City, bankrupting his casinos then taking the money and running. He humiliated Chris Christie, a Republican supporter (not that Christie didn't deserved to be humiliated).

Currently NJ and CT are working closely with NY. Historically, NJ and NY have had a relationship common among siblings. The two states are linked together, but that doesn't mean they always get along with each other.

It looks bad. This is a bit like Hillary refusing to make public the speeches she gave to Goldman Sachs.

It is inevitable that the Trump campaign would try to go fishing for stuff that might make for bad headlines, even if there's no substance behind it. Although that may require further discussion about how to make sure no one is rewarded for taking advantage of a campaign's openness to release records by making bad faith arguments.

For conservatives, it's more about the double-standard of how the media treated Reade's allegations, compared to how they treated allegations against Republicans.

The Bernie left are the people going with the smear.

Matt Bruenig (in a comment liked by his wife, New York Times columnist Elizabeth Bruenig) applauded a story in the New York Times, saying "Love this story, one of the few that highlights the cowardice of the nonprofit orgs who are supposed to be holding the line on this stuff"

Republicans have found the perfect weapon to use against Democrats, especially male Democrats. All they have to do is find a women willing to go public, saying that they were sexually abused, and suddenly everything falls apart (or might fall apart).

A false claim works just as well as a true one, in fact it works even better since any man could be targeted with it.

The #MeToo movement has now been politicized and weaponized, and Democrats keep falling into this same trap.

Ironic since Trump would be in the same boat as Weinstein and Epstein if he wasn't President.

Do you have any evidence for that? Because I seriously doubt that is what makes this interesting for Republicans.
