At least we aren’t the only clown show
I’ve heard people say that Putin may be the greatest espionage agent of all time. He’s destabilizing the West without even firing a single shot.
The GOP wants to amend the articles to include all of Trump's accomplishments and say he's innocent.
"Always listen to the crazy scientist with a weird van or armful of blueprints and diagrams." -- Vibranium
It keeps becoming truer:
"All they have is gaslighting".
Speaking of GOP dumbassery, only days after Trump's campaign showed a video with his head photoshopped onto Thanos... he's jealous of Greta Thunberg today, so his campaign "fixed" the TIME Magazine cover to give Trump the Person of the Year award he so desires:
Trump is f***ing dogs*** insane.

A Secret Report Exposes Health Care For Jailed Immigrants
BuzzFeed News has obtained a memo in which an ICE whistleblower says two immigrants got preventable surgeries and two were given the wrong drugs. Four died — one after getting “grossly negligent” care.Immigrants held in Immigration and Customs Enforcement jails around the US received medical care so bad it resulted in two preventable surgeries, including an 8-year-old boy who had to have part of his forehead removed, and contributed to four deaths, according to an internal complaint from an agency whistleblower.
The allegations appear in an explosive Department of Homeland Security memo, obtained by BuzzFeed News, containing reports of detainees being given incorrect medication, suffering from delays in treating withdrawal symptoms, and one who was allowed to become so mentally unstable he lacerated his own penis and required reparative surgery. On Dec. 5, 2017, an 8-year-old boy’s mother told officials at the South Texas Family Residential Center in Dilley that her son’s earache had been worsening for two weeks, the memo says. Medical personnel diagnosed him with swimmer’s ear — an external ear infection — and gave him ear drops.
More than two weeks later, on Dec. 23, the boy had seizures and was taken to the hospital. Doctors there diagnosed him with Pott’s puffy tumor, a rare infection inside the skull that spread from the child’s ear to his facial bone and formed abscesses under the skull. To treat it, they surgically removed part of the boy’s frontal bone, which makes up the forehead.
The whistleblower said that ICE’s Medical Quality Management Unit analyzed the case, and found that the “inadequate medical care provided by [the detention center] was a contributory factor resulting in harm.”
The quality control unit’s report was forwarded to IHSC leadership who, the whistleblower said, “failed to take appropriate action."

I could actually see a repeal of the 22nd amendment. If Trump wins reelection (maybe Biden has some really bad interviews where it looks like he doesn't know where he is, or Sanders or Warren just seem too left-wing for swing state voters) Republican legislators might be backed into supporting it because they're afraid of pissing off Trump.
And Democrats would have their own reason to support it, with the recognition that any repeal of the 22nd amendment allows Obama to have another term in the White House.

Pence may not be as easily manipulated or morally bankrupt as Trump. He's a politician and devout Christian, Trump is an opportunist who puts his own interests above the well-fare of the entire country. When Pence swears on a bible he may actually honor his pledge - at least to a point.

With teen activists, some liberals seem to be having it both ways, arguing simultaneously that they are public intellectuals who can make a serious contribution and that they are children who can not be engaged seriously.
There are plenty of ways to square the circle.
One can think that we need more civility in discourse overall, and that while a lot of conservatives should treat the activist Parkland survivors or Greta Thunberg with more respect, we should all be treating figures engaged with public conversation with with more respect. There can be exceptions for clearly defined reasons (IE- someone who is acting in bad faith or makes vicious insults does not deserve respect) although this would have to be cross-partisan (your outrage at someone on your side who crosses the line should be the same as if it was someone on the other side.)
It is also morally defensible to suggest that the people on the right side deserve respect, and the people on the wrong side do not. This position would need to be explicitly stated, and you should be clear about where you draw the line between right and wrong. And this argument doesn't suggest we should treat kids more civilly, because the important thing is the side they're on.
If there was a way to get Pence as President, without pissing off Trump's base, McConnell would be ecstatic. They agree on most issues, and Pence isn't likely to say stupid stuff on Twitter or try to extort foreign countries.

People shit in their pants and act like Trump is Satan himself. He’s just a lowbrow, orange skinned, bloviating moron, it’s his base that has Republicans terrified. Like I’ve said before, and I believe this wholeheartedly, the GOP knows Trump’s followers are more loyal to him instead of the party, if they lose him, they lose his supporters, and without them, they lose any chance of retaining the White House.
