Now I think about it, I have never heard of South Bend until Mayor Pete showed up in the news. He put South Bend on the map.

But a 38-year old upstart politician who ran no more than a small town of 130,000 people is too young and not experienced enough to run a country.

Look what happened to America under Trump who could not decently run a business and had no experience in running a city or a state, let alone a country.
South Bend was nationally known before Mayor Pete to college sports fans. It's the city Notre Dame (Fighting Irish) is located next to.

Worth noting that I do spell Tim's last name incorrectly roughly eight times out of ten.

"Tuten" would actually be the correct spelling.

None of that post contradicts the lie you told in claiming people said "quit sweating it -- we've got this."

Everyone from Hillary on down said get out and vote -- and you didn't.

Again -- you just make up things when you don't like the truth.

That's why you never openly discuss Sanders loss or anything else you're wrong about.

    Again, there is no claim.

That is exactly what Tim was told by the Clinton campaign while volunteering after asking why they had not canvased Wisconsin after many trips to canvas Iowa during the 2016 General Election. Matter of fact, he also mentioned being told "We Have It Covered...." after bringing it up a second time.

It is exactly what was said.

It is just a "claim" without statistical proof to back it up, and no evidence that it was the standard response in the Clinton campaign.

Just like your constant claim that "her emails" made Hillary unqualified to be president.

You want to know the main reasons Trump won?

Racism from many white voters and apathy in the face of said racism from many others, such as yourself.

    -----
"Comparison No. 1: Clinton spent literally no time in Wisconsin, whereas Trump repeatedly campaigned in the state. Wisconsin turned red. But so did Pennsylvania, where both candidates campaigned extensively. Trump’s margin of victory in each state was almost identical, in fact — 0.8 percentage points in Wisconsin and 0.7 percentage points in Pennsylvania.

That strongly implies that the demographic commonalities between Wisconsin and Pennsylvania — both of them have lots of white voters without college degrees — mattered a lot more than the difference in campaign tactics.

Comparison No. 2: As I mentioned, Trump campaigned a lot more than Clinton in Wisconsin, and it turned red. But Trump also campaigned a lot more than Clinton in Colorado — it actually had the largest gap of any state in where the candidates spent their time. Colorado remained blue, however, with Clinton winning it by about the same margin that Obama won it by in 2012.

The difference is that Colorado has relatively few white voters without college degrees, while Wisconsin has lots of them.

Again, that strongly implies that demographics rather than campaign tactics drove the shift in the results."

Meanwhile, in news of considerably greater importance than the Iowa Caucus and the silly shitstorm that followed:

Chinese Doctor Who Issued Early Warning on Virus Dies

A Chinese doctor who became a folk hero after he was arrested for warning about the dangers of the deadly new virus now spreading around the world died on Friday after becoming infected with it.

Li Wenliang, a 33-year-old ophthalmologist based in Wuhan, the epicenter of the outbreak, had captivated the country and triggered an extraordinary outpouring of emotion as he ailed.

In social-media posts, many Chinese directed their frustration at government officials who many believe didn’t respond quickly enough despite clear evidence of the developing epidemic. Millions of people flocked to a live stream about Dr. Li that was run by local media outside the hospital where he was being treated.

Another 41 on Japan cruise have new coronavirus: minister

Another 41 people on board a cruise ship off Japan's coast have tested positive for the new strain of coronavirus, Japan's health minister said on Friday.

The new cases raise the number of confirmed infections on board the ship to at least 61, said Katsunobu Kato.

Japanese authorities have so far tested 273 people on board the Diamond Princess, which was quarantined after a former passenger, who disembarked in Hong Kong last month, was diagnosed with the virus.

"The results of the remaining 171 tests came out and 41 tested positive," Kato told reporters.

"Today they will be sent to hospitals in several prefectures, and we are now preparing for that."

"In total, out of 273 specimens, 61 tested positive," he added.

There were more than 3,700 passengers and crew on the ship when it arrived off Japan's coast on Monday evening. It docked in Yokohama on Thursday to resupply for a quarantine that could last until February 19.
I'm sure that has officials in Japan sweating bullets, what with the Summer Olympics in Tokyo just six months away. Anyone who thinks the crisis will magically be over by then is either naďve or delusional.

There is another reason why Trump won. Many white voters are also tired of the politicians' inability to find a solution to the illegal immigration problem. Both parties have a weak stance on illegal immigration. Corporations that donate lots of money to the Republican Party prefer to employ undocumented immigrants instead of American citizens because they are conveniently cheap labor without health insurance, social security numbers or welfare benefits. Even Trump has undocumented immigrants working in his hotels. Democrats pander to the undocumented immigrants for more votes. Republicans, whose ties to the companies that employ undocumented immigrants are reluctant to tackle the problem. Ronald Reagan, a Republican, granted amnesty to the illegal immigrants.

I understand the undocumented immigrants' desire to escape from poverty. But that doesn't mean I approve of them entering the country without legal paperwork. They chose the easy way rather than wait many years to get a legal visa. However, I do not mind if the government will ease the visa restrictions a bit making it easier for immigrants to obtain a legal visa. I'd prefer they wait in long lines to get a visa rather than cross the border illegally.

That wasn't what you claimed, it was that somehow the DNC cheated the Iowa caucus for Biden but somehow it helped Pete instead. You haven't provided any evidence or chain of thought to how you got there - that's what I'm asking about.

I don't like Buttigieg, either, but he's nowhere near as bad as Trump is at anything.

    Illegal immigration decreased under Obama.

What "solution" are you suggesting is better than a decrease in illegal immigration?

As for many white voters being "tired" of the issue and wanting change -- that's been made clear numerous times since Trump took office.

"U.S. Charges Suspect In El Paso Walmart Shootings With Hate Crimes"

"Federal prosecutors have charged Patrick Wood Crusius with hate crimes related to the killing of 22 people at a Walmart in El Paso, Texas, last August. Crusius allegedly told police he had driven to the store intending to kill "Mexicans."

A federal grand jury returned a 90-count indictment that also included firearm charges in connection with the shootings, which the Department of Justice has described as an act of domestic terrorism.

"The attack deeply scarred this community," U.S. Attorney John Bash said in a news conference in El Paso on Thursday. Bringing the hate crime charges, he said, "vindicates the federal interest" in stopping crimes that target people based on real or perceived national origin.

On Aug. 3, the 21-year-old white suspect allegedly opened fire using an AK-47 at the Cielo Vista Walmart, in an attack that also wounded 22 people.

Crusius had already been indicted on a capital murder charge at the state level. Crusius pleaded not guilty to the killings during a court appearance last October, despite police documents that state he confessed to the crime."

Hillary did not lose. More Americans voted for her and WI and MI are highly suspect. I am also not sure about FL and NC. America chose her over Trump. And we now know Trump absolutely works with foreign Governments.
Tired of hearing how America chose Trump, we did not.

no. it wouldn't make any sense. Biden is a damaged candidate with no room to attack Trump's weak points and no support from Obama. and Warren wants to regulate the banks.

    Here is something for WBE

Did Hawley use state resources for political gain? Audit says private emails cloud finding

The Missouri Attorney General’s office under Republican Josh Hawley may have misused state resources to boost his successful campaign for the U.S. Senate, according to an audit released Thursday by Democratic State Auditor Nicole Galloway.

At the core of the possible misuse was Hawley’s decision, within weeks of his January 2017 swearing-in as attorney general, to import out-of state political consultants to help direct his office — and raise his national profile. Those same advisers would go on to run his 2018 campaign that unseated Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill.

Whether Hawley or his staff broke the the law is unclear, the report concludes, because they regularly conducted state business off government servers through use of private email and text messaging.
“By allowing campaign-paid consultants to interact and advise (attorney general’s office) staff,” the report said, “former Attorney General Hawley potentially used state resources for political purposes.”

Pennsylvania judge referred to juror as ‘Aunt Jemima,' attorney complains

A Pennsylvania judge has been barred from presiding over cases after reportedly referring to a female juror as “Aunt Jemima.”

That’s the shocking allegation made in a complaint against Allegheny County Common Pleas Judge Mark Tranquilli, reported the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

The jurist allegedly uttered the racist slur on Jan. 24 during a closed-door meeting with defense attorney Joe Otte and assistant district attorney Ted Dutkowski, Pittsburgh TV station WTAE reported Thursday.

According to the complaint made by Otte, Tranquilli was furious that Otte’s client had been acquitted on drug charges. The judge than berated Dutkowski for a woeful effort screening jurors.
“The judge then said that Ted had made a terrible decision by allowing ‘Aunt Jemima’ on the jury,” reads the complaint. “The juror, Juror No. 4, was a young, black woman who had worn a hair wrap throughout the trial. The judge expressed that he knew Ted was not going to get a conviction from the moment Juror No. 4 was questioned.”
