Okay fine, let me try to be a bit more diplomatic, the problem as I see it is, you are placing a higher burden of proof on Bernie over any other candidates. If that is not what you meant, fine, but that is how I saw it.

If we both just have theories, fine, let's at least acknowledge that. I could be wrong and you could be wrong because I never said Bernie was a sure thing, he is not, nothing is. I think people have to realize is not about pure facts and data, if it were Trump would not be President, his base gloms onto him for emotional reasons, not factual ones, maybe are not robots driven solely by facts and figures, Trump's appeal is almost entirely emotional, so I think making an emotional appeal while having a good factual argument matters and I think Bernie can do that. Maybe Mayor Pete could it, maybe Warren could do it, but Biden really can't, he seems unable to give coherent reasons why he should be President. Obama or Bill Clinton did not rely solely on facts, they made appeals to emotion, which I am not sure these traditional Democratic strategies always take into account. Trump made an emotional argument to the Rust Belt workers, it was a lie, but it worked for him, I think that appeal to Rust Belt workers will have to counter if you want these people back. Tell them why the Democratic nominee will do better for them than Trump has, because that is not what was done last time. So that is a big area that needs improvement.

All I will say is whoever the Democratic nominee is, they will have to make a compelling argument on why the Rust Belt workers should come back to the Democratic party.

Every candidate has a burden. Pretty sure it was in response to you that I listed every candidate's pro/con. You asked what the pro argument is for Biden or Buttigieg. I gave it. They definitely have burdens. (Buttigieg has virtually zero non-white support and Biden has lost all charm)

I completely agree about emotion. Policies are a detriment to winning unfortunately. But let's be clear, Biden is stumping on the ACA which is highly popular. Bernie is stumping on Medicare for All which has more mixed emotions. It is also more vulnerable to attack. (The ACA survived that period and is now nearly bulletproof as 2018 showed) There is major risk in abandoning a talking pount that won less than 2 years ago. And, specifically, won in swing states and the rust belt.

My personal confidence in Biden is low, but until we see a significant share of black voters declare I'm holding off. Black women were the major player in 2018, we need to hear them as well.

His support did not get cut in half. He went down as the first choice but his favorability among African-Americans stayed almost the same. That's from the poll your article cited.

Go check the polls cited instead of trusting the article without checking its sources. The article is citing voters first choice but pretends it's overall support.

Author Don Winslow tweeted that his sources in the DOJ told him that Barr is shutting down investigations into Trump:
