In the old days, people used to claim they were related to the gods, so I guess we've made progress in that respect.

That said, I look forward to the day when people start consistently electing rational, honest, objective, scientific candidates into Congress and the Presidency.

My Grandma always like to say we were related to Jesse James. I think everyone in Tennessee's grandma says that. Oral family history is just like that. It really is a nothing scandal.

Pretty sure my Grandmother mentioned Beyonce at least a few times.

Along with a lot of random famous blues players that came up in passing conversation.

My wife's mother thought her dad immigrated to the US from Germany after WWI. When it was time to move her out of her house due to illness I found a bunch of old documents and did some research which led to working on an extensive family tree.

Turns out her great-grandfather fled to the US after murdering his father in 1910, then took on a job as a farmhand where he presumably knocked up his bosses wife, then the two of them fled west after her older husband died.

So I guess "I left after the war" was probably a better story to tell your kids than "I'm a murderer and your mom is a philandress"

    Trump's gonna Trump.

He repeatedly slandered Obama as "Kenyan" and not American, something made even more ironic by the fact that Obama also has "white" heritage.

If Americans fall for it twice, we have no one to blame but ourselves.

I still feel the Republican party itself is the real issue -- Trump is just a symptom of a much larger problem.

One can only imagine where they might go after the success of Trump.

Data for Progress, which accurately predicted Sanders Nevada win, now sees Biden winning Texas - even with Pete and Amy still given as options.

    Biden - 30
    Sanders - 28
    Bloomberg - 20
    Warren - 15
    Buttigieg - 4
    Klobuchar - 3
    Gabbard - 1

Interesting what happens once black people finally have reletively fair representation in the political process.

If they vote Trump then they would have effectively gutted the progressive movement in Americas eyes for a generation

I would expect the large majority of Sanders supporters would do just that.

After all most ended up voting for Hilary last time round, so why would this time be any different?

I don't think they'll vote for Biden, at the very least not a majority of them. They were extremely angry last time Sanders was "cheated" and some did stay home, I think the anger will be even greater this time around.
