After the virus has started to spread like wildfire.. This will save lives and is a good thing. I said that neither party did much before hand to prevent or get ready for this.

i get Federal funding is a hang up. But you dont need federal funding to meet with your own advisers, to hold press conferences for the public to tell them what may happen. To meet with first responders and the heads of local hospitals to get some sort of plan in place. There was nothing on the news or any evidence of governors or mayors doing this in Ky Indiana or Ohio. As I stated above Beshear told a reporter about a month ago that he was going to take a wait and see approach. Both Dems and Republicans at the state and local level did next to nothing during the start of this. Like I said I get federal funding but there are other things that could have been done on a local level. Putting a plan together to cancel public schools in Ky like in Boone county was given only a few days notice to plan for this.
After the first cases were reported. Given how bad things were getting wouldnt it have made sense to get things like a plan for closing school together a couple weeks ago. Yes Trump really downplayed the threat. But he doesnt control the media that was reporting how bad things were getting. he doesnt control the governors talking to each other and saying hey this is bad despite what Trump is saying. I contend that there could have been more of a plan in place despite Trump. Yes Trump failed us badly. But so did a lot of local leaders. You dont need Federal oaky to close a scool. yet Boon Countrty schools in Ky were told Wednesday Morning to get a plan in place so that the last day of school can be Friday. Does that sound like a local government that has had long term plans in place or a government that is planning on the fly?

Beshear had a conference call with eh superintendents of the school in Ky on Weds to tell them to come up with plans to close. What took so long to do this? There were over a dozen states with cases before one hit Ky. It was a fact it was spreading despite what Captain Crazy was saying. Not to mention how it si going voerseas. Why wasnt a plan put in place with the school before now? And why the Hell Inst Dewine having the same call with his Superintendents? One Dem One Republicans two failures.

I know a lot of people are going to keep point pt that Trump downplayed the threat. I agree yes he did. But if Beshear was a real leader would he wait for a man whose judgement he has questioned often, a man he does not trust to wait and tell him tings are bad or is he going to see with his own eyes what is really going on and use common sense.

Given what we have seen and events being cancelled , its hard to believe a Trump supporters could yell "FAKE NEWZ" even seriously. I brought up that the NCAA Tournament will be in empty arenas to be played and was told it was fake news by a supporter. The same one spouting to not believe the media.

Well, the NBA, NHL, and American Soccer League have all suspended their seasons. I expect that MLB may suspend Spring Training games, and possibly even delay opening the season, if the virus continues to get worse.

They are meeting even as we speak to decide what to do. I am pretty sure this is the last day of baseball for a good amount of time.

Completely untrue. Obama had a group of Pandemic specialists in the White House to prepare for this, Trump fired them. The Dems in Congress stopped Trump from further gutting the CDC when they took over. It is not both Parties even a little. The GOP has fucked up.

And the Democrats are the ones that said you are not asking for enough money in your response package and offered triple the 2 billion requested by the White House. Democrats would have easily been on board to keep funding these projects and not for example waste billions on the racist wall. That he stole funds for anyway.

I will grant you on the federal level that the Gop has has fucked up. But Dems on the local and state level have dropped the ball as well. As I stated a couple posts up.

The Mayor of Cincinnati John Cranley a Dem in a press conference wensday said he and his team are coming up with a Coronavirus plan. Coming up with? Not we have a pan in place. But we are coming up with a plan. Why hasnt he been coming up wiht this plan weeks ago after it started to spread in America. A plan should have been in place by now. Dewine should have had a plan in place. He is a Republican. Beshear should have had a plan in place by now. Both parties at local government Both failed. Like I said you dont need the federal government to come up with plans to cancel schools. Yet in Ky this process wasnt started until Wednesday. In Ohio there is still no plan being talked about. I am not talking the Federal government any more who thanks to the Gop is messed up.

Because on something like this locals take their cues from Washington, who was underplaying the risks from the beginning. Remember a week ago Trump was saying people can go to work.
