This is a time you put their feet to the fire and make Republicans come out against it when the public is actually scared enough to hold them accountable. This is the time to have that battle and make them take the risk

Explain how to do that differently than what they're doing right now. The public holding Republicans accountable, that's a laugh. Taking risks includes getting less seats when it comes to elections which will negatively impact what leverage they have in congress if they lose.

They didn’t get outflanked. Republicans are dangling the carrot of what Democrats and “leftists” want (cash flow to ordinary people) to push a bill that will give $500 billion to business owners and airlines. That’s ridiculous and a total waste of resources. That $700 billion that is being pushed to everyday Americans needs to be the most substantial portion alongside support for them by stopping rent collection (which will also help business owners paying their lease).

Forget the fucking election, NOW is the time to push forward sweeping legislation making sure that the American people are taken care of during this crisis and all future crisis while guaranteeing that the fat cat CEO hucksters eat ****. Put the GOP on the hot seat and make them answer for why they prioritized the health of their stock portfolios over the well being of the public.

Pass your superior bill first in the house. Send it to the Senate. Then when the second compromise bill is passed say “if it wasn’t for Republicans you would have got this much more”. Then everyone struggling has to answer why the Republicans didn’t want it and there is a clear contrast

Here in California we’ve officially been given the order to stay home.

Two more senators implicated in insider trading in Inhofe and Loeffler.

Edit: Loefler being implicated is a big deal. Her husband is the Chairman of the NYSE apparently.

I’m hopeful that happens when the Senate version of the bill is sent to the House and AOC and other House members are able to amend the crap out of it. Then, when it goes to reconciliation, Republicans can explain why they didn’t want as much going to workers and so much going to multi-billion dollar corporations. We’ll see how that works because, at least right now, Schumer and Pelosi are talking tough about the business protections.

Someone is going to have to go through the stock portfolio of every single politician briefed on the oncoming pandemic, find the ones that were clearly dumping stocks before the crash they knew was coming, and just bludgeon them with insider trading charges.

As for Corbyn, yeah the media was an issue. Unlike you though I don't start spitting conspiracy theories and lashing out at people. I actually think about things and have accepted thar Corbyn fucked up. Instead of being agressive about the anti-semetism claims he again and again let the right make the narrative, then he sat on the fence with Brexit which (like it or not) wasnt going to sell even if his "Redo the vote, make it less corrupt" angle made sense too many saw it as a "We didnt get our way" idea. So my guy fucked up. On his own.

Now if the Corbyn element wins the next leadership election, nice. Hopefully they can be agressive and focused. If Starmer wins and we get Neo-Blair, well his stats are still ok (Iraq War aside) and it'll be a damn sight better then Boris and Co.

But if I was like you I'd hope that Starmer utterly failed my girl wins and if that fails utterly abandon them and casually allow the right to continue ruining everything.
If you think I'm shitting on you, there's nothing I can do about it. The reason why Bernie has been consistently defended for three years, is because people keep shitting on him for years, even when he's not running. See?

If people here were honest, they'd realize their biases against Bernie go deeper than a Presidential run. That's why I'm aggressively defending him. Only person I actually dislike is Paul. Some of you are reasonable and some are not.

It's literally not about Bernies run, it's about the constant lies and smears, how is this not understood?

Great! The crappy version of the bill is going to pass because Republicans stalled the bill long enough that Democrats are desperate to just get something out the door. And then folks like Dore are going to claim it is another example of the Democrats not doing enough—when their bill was stronger and they had assurances that that was what would get the president’s signature.
It would be nice if Pelosi and the Democrats did a better job, and yes, Trump is hot Garbage, but he is being to the left of Establishment Democrats.

Also, Republicans trying to add abortion amendments is a **** move, and other tags to hurt us in the end is not good for the country as a whole.

Now I'm hearing Dianne Feinstein has been found to've also sold stocks the same day.

This seems like it could turn into a massive scandal.

    All of this.
    Great post.
Also more Republicans are getting caught in the act...

Third GOP Senator caught dumping stock before the market crash — this time up to $25 million worth

Fourth. Inhofe, Loefler, Burr and now Ron Johnson? Di-Fi apparently did it too over on the Democratic side. These needs a thorough investigation. Fat chance Barr's DOJ will do one, but hopefully the FBI will take the initiative.
