Default Rodan at Tokyo Bay Surrender

In 1945 an Allied Fleet was in Tokyo Bay for the surrender of the Empire:

    Major Ships were:

    Battleships

    USS New Mexico (BB-40)
    USS Mississippi (BB-41)
    USS Idaho (BB-42)
    USS Colorado (BB-45)
    USS West Virginia (BB-48)
USS Iowa (BB-61) (sister ship of USS Missouri and lead ship of the class)
USS Missouri (BB-63) (The ship on which the surrender was signed)
    USS South Dakota (BB-57)
    HMS Duke of York (17)
    HMS King George V (41)

    Light aircraft carriers

    USS Bataan (CVL-29)[1]
    USS Cowpens (CVL-25)

    Escort carriers

    HMS Ruler (D72)
    USS Salamaua (CVE-96)
    HMS Speaker (D90)

    Heavy cruisers

    USS Boston (CA-69)
    USS Chicago (CA-136)
    USS Quincy (CA-71)
    USS Saint Paul (CA-73)
    HMAS Shropshire (73)

    Light cruisers

    USS Detroit (CL-8)
    HMNZS Gambia (48)
    HMAS Hobart (I63)
    HMS Newfoundland (C59)
    USS Oakland (CL-95)
    USS Pasadena (CL-65)
    USS San Diego (CL-53)
    USS San Juan (CL-54)
    USS Springfield (CL-66)
    USS Wilkes-Barre (CL-103)

There were lots of destroyers and frigates also :https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...er#Battleships

Let's say that the Classic Rodan from the first movie (not an energy tosser like later), rises from the volcano and annoyed by the noise flies over bay. The ships all will have AA guns with radar equipped proximity fuses plus their main guns. If you want to throw in some WWII fighters from the carriers, go ahead.

The big ships all have armor piercing shells for the big guns. Is Rodan toast? Can he do anything to the ships?

In the movie, conventional large missiles did wound one of them but F-86 rockets had no effect. As for the ships, BBs did withstand the blast of above sea nukes without sinking. Didn't look so hot but didn't sink.

    They all die painfully.
Yeah, but if you... man, we're getting into weird analogy territory, like if you disintegrated Superman's arms he wouldn't be able to go "fool! Little did you know that my arms and I are one and can be remade from me!" and will his arms back into being from pure nothingness. - Pendaran

Original Rodan? I can't imagine he (or she) could survive a prolonged bombardment. They were very tough, but the damage would stack up. They died from exposure to magma iirc.

Probably some ships sink but the Navy is victorious.
