Do you like for heroes and villains to be close to each other?

So I was reading the Would Batman miss The Joker thread and I got to thinking. How would you feel about Heroes and Villains being close to each other. Like respecting each other or maybe they could be friends if they wernt going against each other.

I would lose interest if it was common. But I've been knocked out on some occasions, like Flashpoint Batman and Joker.

It can definitely be good. Unfortunately, I think it's happening too much and all too often it can lead to a 'small world' problem. Not everything has to have an intimate connection.

It would depend on the villain. I agree it shouldn't happen all too often.

In some cases I like it. I'm fond of the dynamic that's been developed between Hal Jordan and Sinestro for example.

Like all the other responses though, it can get too common and repetitive.

Why would Batman miss the Joker? Only if deep down Batman loves chaos.

I don't think heroes and villains can be friends. Especially if these villains kill innocent people. Maybe villains can respect some heroes.
