That's fine. In small doses.
I would lose interest if it was common. But I've been knocked out on some occasions, like Flashpoint Batman and Joker.
It can definitely be good. Unfortunately, I think it's happening too much and all too often it can lead to a 'small world' problem. Not everything has to have an intimate connection.
It would depend on the villain. I agree it shouldn't happen all too often.
In some cases I like it. I'm fond of the dynamic that's been developed between Hal Jordan and Sinestro for example.
Like all the other responses though, it can get too common and repetitive.
