So it was "Some Enchanted Evening", I'm guessing. The Perry Como version made #1.

(I would have loved it if it was "There Is Nothing Like a Dame", but I don't think that ever made #1.)

Busted. The musical "South Pacific" and I both made our debut in 1949, and Perry Como crooned that song to the top of the charts in August. At least my being born before rock music was born means that we sort of grew up together, so on my 6th birthday as I prepared to enter first grade the #1 song was "Rock Around the Clock" by Bill Haley and His Comets, and after I graduated from high school on my 18th birthday the #1 song was "Light My Fire" by the Doors, which was nice.

Radio dramatic presentations with music started in the 1930s.

Which, you could also argue, was kind of the original version of social media and the internet.
