The Andy Griffith Show (8 seasons).
Most fans hate the color seasons after Barney left but I loved every season of this great show. Yes, the show evolved from being just about life at the courthouse, but I liked that it became more of a series about Mayberry and the townsfolk. Characters like Floyd, Goober, Clara, Howard, Helen, and Emmitt interacting with Andy, Opie, and Aunt Bee made it an enjoyable ensemble. And the fact that Andy was still at the center of it all kept it entertaining.

That replacement Deputy after Barney left, yeah. Didn't like him at all. Andy himself, in his first episode, called him, "My idiot Deputy!".

if South Park had stopped around season 15 or so I could probably could have included that one as well.

that would have been true of the Simpsons... but, alas, they kept going!

I wanted to say Mystery Science Theater 3000... but Pearl Forester and Bobo really, REALLY killed the series for me. after Trace Beaulieu AND Frank Conniff left the old MST3k really nose-dived for me. I would just skip through the skits and watch the films. but, after awhile, I just couldn't be bothered with it.

Hmm.... just going by what's been said so far, I can't say "Friends" or "ST:TNG" because I think their first seasons were still them figuring things out. "Buffy" is a good choice, but I think the season that ended in "Dark Willow" wasn't so great up until the end - obviously that's where they were leading us, and it was amazing, but the season as a whole to set it up was not so strong, imo.

I will have to think a bit more... (and also look up which shows lasted 7 seasons)
