    Default Avengers of the Wastelands

    https://www.marvel.com/articles/comi...e-wastelands-1

Written by Ed Brisson with art by Jonas Scharf, the five-issue limited series finds a new force rising in the Wastelands...

In a world where most Super Heroes fell at the hands of the Red Skull over 50 years ago, Dani Cage wields the mighty Mjolnir for the cause of peace. But when the brutal regime of Doctor Doom forces Dwight (AKA the owner of the surviving Ant-Man technology) to Dani and the Hulk in a last ditch effort to survive, the Avengers have the chance to assemble once more!

Declining Old Man Quill sales can't keep a good but tired AU down.

    I've gotta stop using the monkey's paw. (I won't.)

Kind of hilarious how Old Man Logan set out to form a Superhero team and he's not even in this one :P.

I guess this will be what "turns around" the OML universe.

A superhero Unforgiven set in a Mad Max world. Granted, there's problems with the execution, but the concept it's pretty excellent.

Substitute "Bat-Man: Insert Title Here" for any of those.

At least this time it's not about on old, broken hero's revenge porn.

Besides not quite sticking the landing, I really enjoyed Old Man Hawkeye. Might give the first issue a shot.

This'll be a hard pass for me.

I've stuck with Dead Man Logan because it's the finale of a series I enjoyed but, man, I am SO ready to be done with it and the whole future world of OML.

Once DML releases its final issue this month, I'm washing my hands of that whole alt timeline. Or is it the actual timeline? I don't know. And also don't care at this point.

That's a good point. Marvel isn't quite as bad as DC on that front.

I do think this has potential, at least in the sense that they're trying to redeem/save/fix/better the world instead of just being mired in how much it all sucks and waiting for the end to come. Speaking of, I'll follow just to see if Ashley Barton shows up.

Given Ashley’s connection to 2 Avengers, I’d be surprised if she didn’t show up.

Yeah, she's a descendant of both Hawkeye and Spider-Man. That means she wouldn't be out of place here. Of course, she wouldn't be the only double representative, as the Thor here is actually a triple legacy, since she has the powers of Thor (specifically a legacy to Jane Foster, considering the helmet design), but is also the daughter of Luke Cage and Jessica Jones and should have their powers as well.
