The more I think about it, this probably wasn't a fair fight either way. If we just go by hand to hand, I think the Monster Squad (not counting Scary German Guy or Frankenstein's monster) are all a lot younger than the Goonies...and they'd probably get their butts kicked. However, if we just went with "what they have" the Monster Squad tend to use deadly weapons like guns and bows and arrows and pointed stakes...then the butt kicking goes the other way. Not a very good fight on my part.

Anyone else get Johns' new SHAZAMILY (before Stranger Things brought it back) was another great throwback to this 80's trope'
In the original Darla was a bit older somewhat better matching Stef

Mikey = Billy (The leader
Andy = (the cheer leader
Mouth = Freddy (smart mouth/wise guy
Chunk = Pedro the (the fat kid
Stef = Darla (the cautious smart one (was older, made young more the heart of the team
Data = Eugene (The Tech kid.

Then in the reboot Billy actually calls them that...
