Honestly the Cassandra Nova arch went on way too long, that should have been a 4 or 5 issue arch, and then move on to the next story arch. Spreading it out over the entire run is what made the story feel like it was moving too slow!
I didn't thought it was any cliche. he just spoke the truth and it can be very incovenient when all people want is fight and blood.
First thing he did was search the mind of the Earth's biggest specialists

The difference between Krakoa and Jean's setup is the difference in editorial commitment.

Also, getting to an island is considerably less difficult than getting to the bottom of the ocean.

I liked the first couple. By the time we got to thuddingly blatant slogans about how social media is dangerous and how they could “fight back” by posting on Facebook and Twitter at the speed of light, I wanted to go hide somewhere. Nice thought but cringey execution.

Also, I liked Jean herself in the book but Kurt being moved to tears by her stock Lisa Frank vision of the same old mutant nation (but uh, at the UN or something) was groan-worthy.

THIS! I believe Searebro appeared in only one other book outside of Red and that was Extermination. Their was no editorial commitment to it and there was no new status quo built out of it. It disappeared without a trace and hasnt been mentioned since

Did y’all see that Tea Party speech he gave? Surprised (not really) he didn’t drop out but if that was the case, Biden would’ve dropped out ages ago.

    Could be.

At least this is a strong indication that whatever happens/happened to Storm in this comic comes from developments in Marauders. Which makes sense of course, as that 's her home comic at the moment. And Hickman using it as a starting point maybe explains why he called it important.

Jean is the Hillary of the X-Men. Emma is Monica in that she's the real hero of the story.

Utopia, San Francisco and New Tian were also developed during a period of big crisis for mutants, Searebro had more resources and possibly more connections. All I'm saying is, she might have been a diplomat during one hot hour but we didn't see anything done from her except for the (imo cringy) speeches. Nothing that would make her a better candidate than say Beast or Emma or Xavier in the role of Krakoa politic voice.

Anyway, I hope this issue is great like the Morrison silent issue. And I hope Hickman will keep that silent issue in mind when doing this.

To be fair, the entirety of Red save the first few pages of #1 were one big flashback. Jean was a fugitive for the entire run and only in the last panel was she free to start up her mutant nation but Age of X-man happened the next month and the status quo she set up in Red wasnt allowed to go anywhere

Agreed. I loved that line as well as the 'we will fight for you anyway.' The weaponizing the truth was a good line because it was so timely because we are in a world where facts do not matter and we are in a world full of alternate truths and propaganda that it is hard to know what "truth" is anymore. You get a whole different worldview depending on what news source you happen to read, watch, or listen to.

I will always have a special place for X-Men Red. It may not have been perfect but at least it had a message. It meant something (I know it kind of fizzled out at the end) but the commentary on online trolls (ie comicsgate was worth the price of admission!)
