This was interesting. We rarely see the artist so involved with the plotting of the issue and it's cool to see the idea of using these characters came from Dauterman. I'm curious if the other ones followed the same idea. I can see the Nightcrawler pitch coming more from Davis than Hickman, surely.
While I'm really excited to see Jean and Emma work together, I think this is also a great opportunity for us to see Storm's mindset (literally). Like the Morrison silent issue brought out a revelation about Xavier, I'm hoping we get to see a piece of characterization for Storm. I have no idea how Storm sees the world and what she thinks about, but a friend and an enemy being in her head has so much potential to give us that perspective.
Someone's start posts the silence issue please, it's such a spiritual successor to this issue.
Oh, and Dauterman made a great point on X-telepaths, the neat little detail of giving Emma a "slight telepathic crown".
I love the little things like that maybe Jean a bird, Rachel a hound, Xavier has cerebro, Emma a crown, Quentin a shotgun, Kwannon a butterfly, that leaves Bets unfortunately. I couldn't imagine what she transform her telepathic signature into now.
i wish dauterman was in x-men, he kept such a tight schedule for aarons thor, pls let it happen
