    I always am reminded of the weird Byrne Superman tale where Etrigan couldn't even break a prison made of stone only for Superman to shatter it effortlessly when someone says post crisis Etrigan.

    Maybe ancient Etrigan got stronger through the union with Blood as time passed. In Cosmic Odyssey Starlin depicted both growing weak and dying after getting separated which was another weird development.
