All core characters to the franchise, one being it's most iconic villian, one being the biggest break out character in 20 years and the other being arguably the most central character of the franchise since it's inception. All 3 have played the roles one would expect those characters to play.

Please provide actual examples.

magneto isn'ta villain anymore, Emma isn't a core character. Cyclops wasn't a main stay for 4 years.

I'm not sure Spirit does. If he/she does i'm still waiting to hear it to. So far i've only heard about past actions of said characters but i haven't really read how they don't fit in the new status quo unless i missed the point and it was specificed where each of these characters being where they are and doing what they do is bad writing or a show of favoritism.
