Just going off all the recent cancellations and turmoil at the studio I imagine they need some really good ratings this season to not be on the chopping block. Has their been decline every year so far?

Ratings will not matter. The show will be cancelled after this season due to production costs and that it is not a show that fits Nexstars business model.

One more season would make sense you get this current season this year the next and possible last season next year and then the following year we get the rebooted Superman film Superman Legacy.
