Going with the No crowd on this one.
Maybe if he was a younger/teen character who needed to rebel or whatever, but the whole point of his new status is that he's a bit older, a bit more mature. Mature people getting covered in piercings just looks like youth reclaiming desperation.I will raise my throne above the Stars of God

specific issue was X-Men #201 by Carey and Ramos. But you should go back and re-read #200-#204.
