But, seriously, I feel Marcus To and Eric Arciniega are talented artists but not a good fit for this book. The colours were too saturated and smooth and the visuals too Art Adams-y to work with a story about magic, Apocalypse, Morgan Le Fey and Otherworld. A more quirky team who could really go in on the weirdness of 616-magic would make the book a better package. Chris Bachelo circa-late 90s would be perfect.

I wasn't even sure if Krakoan could be pronounced by someone other than Cipher. Mags referred to it as gibberish and I got the idea that it wasn't meant to be spoken.

The data page says all the mutants can speak the mutant language of Krakoan. This is not the same as Krakoa's own language, which the ambiguity of referring to everything as Krakoa is not helping differentiate.

Moving on. I am looking forward to seeing what Ol’ Blue Lips is REALLY up to. That is the aspect of this title that most interests me. Next to Doctor Doom, Poccy is my favorite villain, and if he IS just using Krakoa to regain power before heel-turning, I hope he becomes a properly global threat that takes more than JUST X-Men to deal with, the way Doom often takes more than JUST the F4.

Rogues got history with mysticism, her real mom dabbled with Native American mysticism and was taken away to the "Far Banks" (an astral plane type realm, I assume) so she fits the genre.
