«Speaking generally, it is because of the desire of the tragic poets for the marvellous that so varied and inconsistent an account of Medea has been given out» (Diodorus Siculus, The Library of History [4.56.1])
Thanks for the votes all. I got that cover as a Modern Comic reprint in a polybagged 3-pack for my birthday as a kid, and it creeped me out so bad I was afraid to read the comic itself for almost a year (I was 9 at the time), and now it is one of my favorite covers.
New contest up soon.

Good job MRP
This Post Contains No Artificial Intelligence. It Contains No Human Intelligence Either.
Congrats MRP. I think that is probably the first Tom Sutton cover to win.
There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!
Congratulations to MRP for a cover which sparked our attention and expressed the fear and dread we feed by delving into the horrors of ghouls and such. I am taken by the perspective on the cover, as the view comes from lower and we look up at the monsters and their victim. The tube also adds to the perspective challenges. Well done.
The peak of the week! What has the captain learned this week? He's still kinda ascared. The terrors shown on this week's covers differs from the usual array of super-villainy in that it seems more real. We've all experienced the dread of something under the bed or in a darkened closet. Even thouse of us who are convinced the supernatural does not exist understand the real life fear of the "what if they exist?". Obviously these terrors from the comic covers aren't true, but what we fear isn't the defined terrors in four color, but what we don't know or understand.
Congratulations MRP!

Congrats MRP, and thank you for the Doom vote, Iron Maiden! Sleepy Hollow was a visual treat with just the right balance of humor and darkness.
