Post Does 'Make More Mutants' Place an Undue Burden On Women?

Unless Xavier and Moira have found another way of making babies, Krakoa's third law places the responsibility of mutant continuation on and in the body of every post-pubescent, pre-menopausal female mutant.

What if they don't want to have kids right now? Or ever? Sure, some will be fine making little muties and won't need encouragement, but it's one of the founding principles of the state. Suggested by a man.

What if mutant women aren't brewing them up fast enough? Will Krakoan flowers poke holes in condoms or something?

Oh please don't. They are not being forced to have babies. It's just like hey if you want to have babies. That's cool.

Good question and one that I hope writers are thinking about. This is a norm in Krakoa and norms have consequences. However, a big part of "make more mutants" is the resurrection process, so I might put undue burden on Goldballs more than anyone lol.

They certainly could have worded the law better, but I don't think Hickman is going full on A Handmaid's Tale on this.

He explained it was phrased that way to be the opposite of No More Mutants.

OMG I can't with this thread. I will now avoid it. It's like some of you choose to think this just to argue about it.

I’m sure Goldballs will become the full time hatchery.

That's life, though. That doesn't need a law.

ETA: Krakoa's constitution definitely needed another edit before publication.

Did you not read Excalibur? His name is Egg now.

And yeah, Make More Mutants refers to three things. Reproduction (having babies), resurrection, and repowering (reversing the Decimation). It's actually a direct parallel to No More Mutants, which are the words that caused the Decimation.

Hickman said in a interview that mutants now have three ways of reproducing.

So, no. I don't think it is supposed to burden female mutants.

Krakoa already needs a supreme court to interpret the law have we learned nothing from the founding fathers.
