Well, you have a ton of heavy hitters, so if Shadow King or whomever tries anything, you've got omega-level Jean, Cerebro-wearing Xavier, Exodus, Sinister, Emma and Apocalypse.

I do think that when Xavier uses his powers in a potentially troubling manner, there's usually at least a credible argument as to why his decision was the lesser of two evils.
