Given that we haven’t heard anything and Season 2 is already heading into pre production, I think anyone hoping this would get WB to give Cavill another chance are going to be disappointed.

The validity of Netflix's viewership claims is pretty suspect. They now count a "view" if you watch just 2 minutes of a show. And the Mandalorian claims are based on google trends. Considering the Mandalorian built and sustained a pretty massive buzz over months, where the Witcher spiked and receded in December because of binge shows and a global release, I'm hard pressed to take that seriously.
I really liked The Witcher, binged it and I'm watching it again more slowly, bought the game and started one of the books even! But Netflix's claims are not exactly solid.
you're probably right. I just don't understand all the things Cavill said about Superman in December before The Witcher premiered. He sounded like he knew more than he could say. He said, "..you'll see."
That sounds like teasing us, and with Black Adam being greenlit and his strong association with The Rock, makes me wonder if he still has a chance.
Who knows? James Gunn got brought back for GotG-3 after being straight up fired. So Cavill coming back to Superman isn't impossible. I don't think I'd say it's likely, but you never know. Weirder things have happened.
The Rock tends to get what The Rock wants, and if he wants Cavill's Superman in Black Adam he'll probably get it. But I'm not holding my breathe on that one, and even if Cavill does show up the odds of it being more than a glorified cameo are low, and the odds of WB doing right by Superman are even lower.
We'll see what happens I guess.
"We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another, as if we were one single tribe."

Here's hoping we get Cavill back as Superman.
I started watching the Witcher recently and got so into it, I bought the first two books and the third game, haha! I'm loving it.
In the first book, there's a bit where someone recognizes that Geralt is from Rivia based on his accent, and it's made clear that nobody likes Rivians or their accent. I wondered what that meant, how the accent sounded. Upon watching the show, it's clear that a Rivian accent is one that switches back and forth between British and American, sometimes in the middle of a sentence.
That's my headcanon and I'm sticking to it. Cavill's not indecisive regarding Geralt's accent, he's not messing up, that's just what people from Rivia sound like, haha!
I'm glad his Superman never sounded like that though!
