Apologies if this is lopsided - I don't know either character perfectly, especially Asura's Wrath characters. Hopefully it's not an uber stomp.

Is there any form of Asura who would be a good match for Kratos at his most powerful?

Not really. Even at his weakest, Asura had just punched a guy the size of a hill into space and then punched a planet succeed version of that dude so hard he (and Asura's arms) exploded, and got exponentially stronger since then. Compared to any version of Asura, Kratos' is basically a statue made of loose sawdust.

Even then, horribly unstable as he is there, Kratos wouldn't have an easy time of it.
