    Wolverine’s Sinister Six…:

    OMEGA RED (Dr. Octopus)
This tentacled terror and Wolverine have a lot of history. Omega Red’s not just a bruiser though, he’s pretty smart, currently running the Red Mafia while posing as a legit businessman. He’d build and lead the team.

    MASTERMIND (Mysterio)
Things are personal between Mastermind and Wolverine. Among other things, Mastermind was pivotal in Jean Grey being corrupted by the Phoenix Force, and he ruined Wolverine’s wedding to Mariko Yashida.

    SAURON (Vulture/Lizard)
The Pteranodon/Human hybrid and Wolverine met years ago during the All New All Different X-Men’s first ever trip to the Savage Land. The two fought, and have shared a mutual hatred towards each other ever since.

    SPORE (Sandman/Carrion)
The most alien member of the team. A living disease that turns its host body into a pliable ooey gooey mass of mutated cells. Almost destroyed thanks to Wolverine, it’s itching for payback. Even Omega Red, who knows a little something about spores, never lets his guard down around the creature.

    DOG LOGAN (Kraven)
Wolverine’s…brother? A Sabretooth lookalike? Regardless, this guy’s an expert hunter and tracker. He has time travel tech that gives him access to very effective weapons, and he believes in tough love when it comes to dealing w. Wolverine.

    LOST BOY (Electro)
This young electrokinetic mutant debuted in a Wolverine book. He isn’t really a bad kid, he’s just made a series of really bad life choices. Agreeing to join Omega Red’s team is def. another decision he should have thought about before committing to.

With Alpha Flight all shot to Hell, pretty much scrapped for spare parts by Marvel, up to and including its name, Major Mapleleaf takes the initiative and puts together a new team, w. a new name, and the same mission. Take care of their home and native land.

    MAJOR MAPLELEAF
A decorated member of The RCMP w. a heart of gold and a magic horse, he leads the new team.

    SHAMAN
The sorcerer supreme of the Great White North.

    TALISMAN
like father like daughter; she’s actually more powerful than her dad, if not as experienced.

    SNOWBIRD
Inuit demi goddess w. a wide range of powers, and a part of the land itself.

    MARRINA
Her alien origins notwithstanding, she’s a proud Canadian w. powerful aquatic abilities.

    YUKON JACK
The heir apparent to the ancient Turpalurpatodian tribe. He’s mighty warrior, able to create weapons from the ceremonial bones that adorn his body. The coldest temperatures mean nothing to him.

    SNOWGUARD
An Inuk teenager and environmental activist, she’s received the blessings of the Inua spirit Sila, in the form of animal based shape shifting powers.

    CANADIAN KAIJU
After The Squadron Supreme of America sent a crapload of Frost Giants to Canada during The War of The Realms, Canada responded by sending some spies to America and stealing a formula based on Bruce Banner/Hank Pym/Curt Connors. A volunteer has since been treated w. it, and can now transform into a 30 story WMD. As The Canadian Kaiju, he’ll make sure no more monsters cross the border.

If I ever had a chance to write a Dr. Strange series, I'd give him a cast of characters that would, at times, function as sort of an ad hoc team.

    I'd definitely start with...

    Dr. Strange
    Juggernaut
    Black Knight

-Pav, who is thinking maybe Sundragon as well...
You were Spider-Man then. You and Peter had agreed on it. But he came back right when you started feeling comfortable.
You know what it means when he comes back
    .

"You're not the better one, Peter. You're just older."

Giving sequence to the adventures of the earth 712 Squadron Supreme (the Squadron that was featured in Mark Gruenwald's mini-series and, IMHO, the real Squadron Supreme), after they "defeated" the world government that took over the Utopia program over in Exiles "World Tour" saga. THIS is the Squadron I want to see, and I'd want to read about.

Squadron Supreme: Fighting against a totalitarian state created using the tools that the Squadron itself once used to bring a utopia to society. After defeating, exposing and deposing the ruling council of the Earth, the Squadron Supreme votes to disband following the elections of a new government. With the help of Arcanna’s magic and a computer virus developed by Nighthawk and Skymax, the Squadron manages to wipe out any physical evidence and general recollection of their true identities, thus recovering their secret personas. However, clear signs that the Earth is still a dictatorship and personal attacks on Squadron members force the heroes to re-band as an unlawful organization that, while still counting with public support, is opposed at every turn by the government and all its agencies.

    • Hyperion – Mark Milton, newspaper cartoonist. Leader of the Squadron, and, arguably, the most powerful man on Earth. Super-strength, speed, flight, senses, invulnerability and laser-vision.
    • Nighthawk – Neal Richmond, billionaire. The successor of the original Nighthawk and heir to his fortune. Nighthawk is a superb athlete, an unbeatable hand to hand fighter and the Squadron’s tactician. Well-versed in all kinds of martial arts and technologies.
    • Power Princess – Zarda Shelton, social worker. Alongside Hyperion, one of the strongest members of the team, and a superb warrior. Zarda is Hype’s confidant and his lover. Weapon of choice, an invisible shield that also alows her to fly.
    • Amphibian – Kingsley Rice, lifeguard. Although he was against the Squadron’s Utopia Program and even vowed never again interfere with the surface world, Amphibian diligently uses his considerable strength and aquatic abilities against the New Regime
    • The Whizzer – Stanley Stewart, post office worker and computer whiz on his spare time. Founding member of the team. The fastest man on Earth.
    • Dr. Spectrum – Joe Ledger, former astronaut and current trainer of pilots for NASA. Another founding member, whose unique power prism makes him Hyperion’s rival as the most powerful member of the team.
    • Skymax, the Skrullian Skymaster – James Doe, librarian. Genetically altered Super-Skrull, Skymax is in his own way as powerful as Hyperion, and as a scientist of a much more advanced race, he is the Squadron’s resident technological genius. Shape-shifting, super-strength, invisibility, blue flame cold breath.
    • Arcanna – Arcanna Jones, stage magician. Once again in tune with the magic of this dimension, Arcanna re-joins her companions in the Squadron.
    • The Shape – Freed from the custody of the Blue Eagle’s, the simple minded and gentle Shape re-joins the Squadron. As his name implies, Shape has a modicum of shape-shifting.
    • Lady Lark – Linda Lewis, music industry executive. Freed from imprisonment by Red Eagle, Sky Lark discovers that she was wearing the wings of the man who killed her former lover. Giving them up, she re-joins the Squadron as Lady Lark, with her sonic scream. At her request, Nighthawk takes Linda under his wing, and teaches her martial arts.
    • Red Eagle – Diana Dore, police officer, assigned to the Blue Eagles. The late Blue Eagle’s adopted African-American cousin, who now wears his anti-gravity wings and ancient weaponry in battle.
    • Azure Vortex – The late Tom Thumb’s engrams in a robotic body constructed by Skymax and Tom’s living computer, Aida. Azure Wind is super-strong, highly resistant to injury and able to fly and generate high speed winds and also recipient of Tom’s vast scientific knowledge.

The Silver Agency: The new regime’s super-powered enforcers.

    • Major Nuclear – Human nuclear reactor. Super-strong, able to fly and fire high-energy blasts, almost invulnerable. A true military man, with a strong moral compass and remarkable patriotic loyalty. Leader.
    • Emerald Scarab – Athlete, scientist. Uses gadgets. Science is his bible. Second in command.
    • Bronze Gladiator – Almost indestructible living costume covers body, enabling flight. Wrist blasters. Vain and severely interested in maintaining his celebrity status.
    • Blaze – Becomes living violet flame. Vain top model.
    • Frost – Becomes living Ice.
    • Marty Mann, Combatant – Injected with a serum containing particles of Doc Spectrum’s prism. Able to generate light constructs around his body. Arrogant and obnoxious.
    • Ultima – Exiled Kree queen. Likes strong men. Has Hyperion in her cross-hairs. Super-strong and able to fly.
    • Steel Eagle #7 – Encased in advanced super- armor, the only one of its kind upgraded with Kree Sentry technology by Ultima. Least trustworthy member of the team.

Teen Commando: The media tool. Propaganda heroes for the new regime. Most had their powers artificially given to them.

    • Shadow Wing – Peak human. Reported to once have fought alongside the original Nighthawk. But that might not be true.
    • Black Archer – Trained to take up the mantle of the deceased Golden Archer.
    • Whizzer Kid – Super-speed. But not a runner. Spins at super-speed, like a human-top.
    • Hyperia – Supposedly a long lost relative of Hyperion. Super-strong, invulnerable and able to fly. In reality an amnesiac young woman whose genetic code was manipulated using the genetic material of the deceased Hyperion double created by the Grand Master.
    • Amphibia – A young woman with abilities similar to a dolphin. Though not exactly able to breath underwater, Amphibia can spend over 15 minutes underwater. Her body is adapted to function underwater and her strength and speed are remarkable and in the super-human range.
    • Nuke II – Scott Gaines, the original Nuke’s kid brother. Exposed to his brother’s unique radiation. Able to fly and fire radiation blasts.

The Shadow Cabinet – The real secret rulers of Earth. Using pawns, manipulating events and using the tool’s left by the Utopia Program, such as the B-Mod Machine, the Shadow Cabinet remains in power even after the new elections.

    • Moonglow – Illusion casting sorceress.
    • The New Professor Power – August Masters returns to this Earth on the day the SS disappears, wearing the armor of the late Professor Power, of the Secret Empire.
    • Master Menace – Cloned, younger body of the original, housing his evil intellect.
    • Redstone – Mindless super-strong re-animated corpse who serves as Moonglow’s bodyguard.
    • The New Overmind – The former Brain-Child, Arnold Sutton, all grown-up and with his powers reawakened.

The new Institute of Evil: Created by the Council to provide credible threats for their super-hero teams. Other than Cerebrac, none of the other members of the Institute is aware of this fact.

    • Cerebrac – A highly adaptable super-strong artificial being constructed by Master Menace and OverMind to lead the new Institute. To give the robot the needed intelligence to lead the Institute, they used alien software and the brain waves of Ape X.
    • Iron Moth – Former foe of Tom Thumb, back in business. The Moth can fly and uses advanced weaponry.
    • Mink – Savage clawed woman, who has pheromones based powers. After the death of the original Nighthawk, the Minx went back to her criminal life with a vengeance.
    • Remnant – The man with the magic carpets.
    • Quagmire – Finding his way back to his home dimension, Quagmire is more dangerous than ever.
    • Brute – Mindless super-strong monster.
    • Therma – Able to absorb and expel heat, giving her the power over temperatures. Sister to the late Thermite.

    Peace

The gimmick here being that these are all characters that debuted in one Avengers book or another, and went on to not a lot of success after.

Rage has done the best out of everyone, but as a New Warrior not an Avenger.
Even Busiek and Perez couldn’t get Triathlon and Silverclaw over, though I liked them. Triathlon went on to take the 3D Man name and costume. I’m ok w. the name but didn’t like him in the old costume, so in my version he goes back to an earlier version of his own design.
Silverclaw hasn’t been seen since Civil War that I’m aware of.
Poor Singularity wound up getting killed off, but that’s never stopped a character before.
Voyager was a way more interesting version of the erased from reality hero than Sentry to me. She has great look, too.

This team has an Avengers vibe to it imo, w. a couple of energy wielding heavy hitters and a few characters on the lower end, more physical side of things.

When did Singularity die? And yeah, Voyager was cool.

She appeared again in Captain Marvel, when Carol used her to hide the Avengers in her pocket dimension or whatever. Didn’t read the issues. https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Singularity_(Multiverse)

I'm going far out with this one. Storm and the Defenders of Sol.

    Team consists of

    Storm
    Doom
    Namor
    Black Bolt
    Tchalla
    Maestro (yes maestro)

Each run's missions at different times but when they show up together you don't want none of the Defenders of Sol. I mean i guess it could just be called Defenders of Sol.
Don't let anyone else hold the candle that lights the way to your future because only you can sustain the flame.

Same, and having read them just to see for myself what was going on, it made me wonder what the hell S.H.I.E.L.D. was doing with a bunch of clones of the Avengers. Of course, given how increasingly shady S.H.I.E.L.D. had become before its final dissolution in the aftermath of Secret Empire . . . it probably wasn't for anything good.

S.H.I.E.L.D. Hasn’t been the same in so long. I really want Nick Fury to come back and start things over.

    DR. FAUSTUS
An eminent psychiatrist and forward thinker, Dr. Faustus has opened his doors to some wayward souls, in what he assures them will be a mutually beneficial arrangement.

    HIT MONKEY
Dr. Faustus’ loyal bodyguard. Well, loyal to a steady paycheck at any rate.

    NANNY
The perfect housekeeper. Dr. Faustus purchased her at a bargain price on the Dark Web.

    ARTHUR NEGAN
A keen scientific mind perched on the rugged body of a mountain gorilla. He and Dr. Faustus spend many evenings engaged in conversation.

    TRAUMA
When manifesting his power to bring a person’s worst fears to life, his chalk white skin denotes Trauma’s demonic heritage. He can also see and speak to, all things supernatural.

    CAPTAIN BARRACUDA
At home on and under the sea, Barracuda is adept w. all the tools of a pirate’s trade. He also has the Glove of Asteria which is able to direct a destructive column of air moving at nearly light speed.

    PERSUASION
With the power to make anyone do anything, the daughter of the Purple Man has always walked a fine line between using and abusing her gift.

    ALEXANDER AARON
A child, yes, but also son of Ares, God of War. Having been murdered and left to wander the afterlife, Alexander has made his way back to the mortal world. While his new body lacks the abilities he had before, it’s powerful beyond belief in terms of speed, strength and invulnerability. He also has some anger issues to work out, and Dr. Faustus is a good listener.

    RHAPSODY
A musical prodigy her who can beguile or just destroy w. her gift, it didn’t take this young mutant long to realize Krakoa wasn’t all it’s cracked up to be, and go looking for a new place to call home.

    THE SQUID
On occasion Dr. Faustus will send his charges out on “team building” missions. The Squid, unfortunately, failed to come back from one. Well, he came back, he just wasn’t in one piece.
