Yeah, she's one of the ones I might like too much to throw on a villain team like this, which is why I offered up Titania as an alternate. There are tons of strong folk that could rep Strength.

I also, since the team had 22 potential members, or more, if they are going to have flunkies playing the Wands, Cups, Swords, etc. roles, to keep the power levels low to moderate. The toughest folk there are Moonstone and Mordred the Mystic, pretty much. (A buffer version might replace Azazel as 'Devil' with Bleakheart, for instance.)

And yeah, Tarot totally would make sense, and with Roulette, a fellow Hellion already on the team, she's even got a work-friend! (And loser Hellion 'Beef' is yet another possible Strength..., while Empath certainly thinks he'd be able to pull off Emperor, even if nobody agrees!)

If there was an Emperor of this Tarot mega-group, it'd totally be someone like Zemo.

^^^I almost went w. that version of Dani. That lineup was a juggling act!

Been messing w. some JLA Yeat One stuff and this throwback team’s kind of based off them.

Not in terms of power sets, more what the characters were like and represented.

Captain Marvel and Wonderman are the Green Lantern and Flash.
Despite Captain Marvel being an alien, he, like Wonderman, looked like the archetypical superhero of the time; a handsome colorfully clad white guy.

Jewel is the Wonder Woman and/or Black Canary.
Well, she’s the token female, obviously. Canary being retconned into things at a later time, she had better characterization than WW did back in the day, and I see Jewel taking her share of the spotlight.

    The Uranian is the Aquaman.
Like Aquaman The Uranian fits the same handsome colorfully clad white guy archetypes as Captain Marvel and Wonderman. Really though, he’s an outsider, not from an underwater Kingdom but another planet.

    Man-Wolf is the Martian Manhunter.
When john and J’onn shed their human personas, neither can pass for human. They’re both the odd man out on their teams, but each is as heroic as their more traditional looking peers.

    BLUE MARVEL (Reed Richards)
The grey at the temples science genius the team is named after.

    VEDA (Sue Richards, Ben Grimm)
Strong, independent, smart, and beautiful. Can create golems from any organic substance, and can both control them and see through their eyes.

    ALPHA (Johnny Storm)
The youngest team member. Uses dumbass humor to mask his insecurities. Continually recharges massive amounts of cosmic energy, which he can release in various ways.

MACHINE MAN (Ben Grimm, Reed Richards)
A sensitive soul inside an indestructible shell. His telescoping limbs allow him to traverse great distances and engage opponents in battle.

Wow. I never thought to see anyone use Deva again! She was easily my favorite member of the The Order (although Mulholland Black and the storm dude leader were interesting, too).

^^^The Order had some interesting characters!

With her power to create rock monsters Veda REALLY fit what I was trying to do here, make a Terrifics type team that mixed the FF tropes (like Plas having Reed’s powers and Johnny’s silliness).

Not really a team but a concept for a team...

A U.S. Government team made up of existing or new characters who all are part of the military/law enforcement/intelligence/science-research personnel.

For example...an existing character would be David Rickford who was Captain America for one issue.

For a new character you would have an Air Force fighter pilot using a DARPA built armor on par withe the Mk VIII (Silver Centurion) or Mk IX.

Built our a 6-8 person team.

All I wanted was to be unconditionally loved while never having to work on my flaws. Is that so much to ask?

The Order really had a lot of potential. I liked it. Probably one of the few Fraction works I appreciated. Shame it didn't take.

I've already posted this (I think), but how abouth this:

S.T.A.R.S. - The Superhuman Tactical Activities Response Squad. With the end of the Thunderbolt program, America needs its own super-heroes at its back and call. Brought together as a U.S. response team to bring in the Renegades.

U.S. Agent – John Walker is the highest-ranking officer of The Superhuman Tactical Activities Response Squad, and its field commander. A fiercely patriotic, headstrong right-winger, John is not very happy with most of the additions to his team, but, nonetheless, he is a professional, and he will whip them into shape. The Agent is super-strong in the superhuman class 10 range and he is pretty hard to damage also. His gear will be upgraded a little. His looks will no longer resemble so much Captain America’s nor Judge Dredd’s, especially the helmet, and his shield will now be a small adamantium disk magnetically attached to his back, that slides to his arm and generates a larger photonic shield, like the one he wore in Force Works. The photonic charge can be fired, and the disk can be thrown and magnetically controlled. He will still carry his energy truncheon. U.S. Agent is a former member of both, the Avengers and Force Works, and while an asset in battle, he is not much of a team leader. As such, S.T.A.R.S. work more as a unit of gifted individuals than as tight-knit team. However, John is a competent tactician and Hoskins complements his leadership with heart and common sense.
Battle Star – Lemar Hoskins was John Walker’s partner when he stood in for the original Captain America. Now, after many years, the two best friends are reunited again. Lemar is the U.S.Agent’s second-in-command in the field and his levelheadedness balances out Walker’s impetuosity. Battle Star becomes the soul of the team, serving as Walker’s voice of reason and conscience, and reaching out to all the team-members, getting to individually know them. Lemar is actually bigger and stronger than Walker, going as far as bench-pressing over 12 tons, but the Agent is a better trained fighter. Hoskins weapon of choice is a triangular adamantium shield that he carries with him since his Bucky days. Battle Star served a long time with Silver Sable’s Wild Pack.
Vantage _ Dallas Riordan is the true cop in the team. Her years of experience in the NYPD give her a unique perspective in this job. Perhaps a little bit over-zealous, Vantage is not very receptive to Volcana’s attempts to fit in with the group, mainly because of her past associations to the Molecule Man and Titania. A surprising reaction for someone who, some years ago, used to hang out with the Thunderbolts, the former Masters of Evil. Though originally intended to be the team's second in command, Walker prefers having his former partner fulfill that position leaving Vantage as the third in command, something she clearly resents. A skilled fighter, Vantage’s body is supercharged with ionic energy, which she can use to enhance her physical attributes, one at a time. She can be super-strong, super-agile, super-fast, fly, or practically invulnerable, when she can focus her energy in her sword, making it able to cut through almost anything. 20 T
Kommodo _ Melati Kusuma is a former graduate student of Dr. Curt Connors. She stole Connors' regenerative Lizard Formula, modified it to her own DNA and administered it to herself. Komodo possesses an accelerated healing factor derived from the same serum created by Dr. Curt Connors that turned him into the Lizard. The extent of her healing factor is unknown, but it is shown she is able to regenerate lost limbs in seconds. She also possesses razor-sharp claws on each of her fingers. Unlike Connors she maintains control of her human consciousness when she is in her lizard form, and has the ability to control transformations between human and lizard forms. This is a result of her being able to perfect the formula to her DNA. Komodo also appears to have superhuman strength, stamina, reflexes, and agility. Komodo has demonstrated genius in chemistry and genetics, and has become the team’s field CSI expert. (15 T)
Volcana – Marsha Rosenberg never wanted anything to do with the world of super-humans, and, ever since she ended her relationship with the infamous Molecule Man, she managed to stay as far away as she could. However, when Uncle Sam sets his sight on you, he has ways of making you do things his way. Joining S.T.A.R.S. reluctantly, Marsha must now fight to earn the acceptance of U.S. Agent who considers her, based on her past, guilty by association. Thankfully, Battle Star and some of the other members are willing to give S.T.A.R.S. newest recruits a fairer chance. Volcana can change her form into super-heated magma, in which she can fire thermal blasts; volcanic rock, in which she has super-strength in the superhuman class 50 range, and volcanic ash, in which she is extremely hard to damage, has limited shape-shifting abilities and can even glide to a certain degree.
Texas Twister _ Drew Daniels was assigned to the team at the insistence of NSC liaison James Macalister, who was answering to a whim of a former president of having a Texan on the team. A bigot and an extremist right-winger, Daniels’ views bring a lot of disharmony to the team mechanics, especially with team members Battle-Star, who is a victim of his bigotry, Wild Child, for being a mutant, and Volcana and Sundown for their former criminal ties. As the name implies, the Texas Twister is able to generate localized tornados, which enable him to fly at amazing speeds and to generate destructive winds.
Wild Child _ A former member of the federal mutant strike team X-Factor, Kyle Gibney, who despite having lost his powers during M-day, saw them re-ignited due to the tempering he suffered at the hands of the Secret Empire, with Wyre’s DNA, is recruited to the team largely due to his tracking skills, making him perfect for hunting escaped convicts. Kyle is supposed to represent the mutant population on the team. Wild Child has enhanced strength, speed, agility, reflexes and senses. He also has claws that can cut through steel and an incredible healing factor. Kyle gets along very well with Komodo, and seems to have developed a crush on her.
Sundown – After his last encounter with Spider-Man, biologist Dr. David Patrick Lowell roamed around the U.S. for a while, working at temp jobs and, whenever the money allowed, updating his scientific skills in short courses. However, in need of a real heavy-hitter for its new team, the U.S. government set its sights on him, blackmailing him into joining. Sundown is extremely powerful. He can absorb, store and convert solar energy into a variety of effects, such as: flight at high speeds, powerful energy blasts and a light absorbing field. While not invulnerable, Sundown heals at a much faster rate than normal and he can generate a powerful force field that has withstood the combined attack of the Thing’s fists, Cyclops’ optic-blasts, Iron-Man’s repulsor rays and Thor’s hammer, among others. Lowell is also super-strong but to what extent is yet to be determined. He is strong enough to easily tear Spider-Man’s web, so it’d be a good guess that he is at least in the superhuman class 50 level, probably more. Sundown is able to increase his size too. He has gone toe to toe with Giant-Man in the early days of his career, so it’s safe to say that he can grow to at least 25 feet in height. A specialist on solar energy, alongside Komodo, Lowell brings much needed scientific skill to the field.

S.T.A.R.S. is a federal police force, and as such, their members will be required to carry guns, truncheons, ID badges and handcuffs, among other items. The team will have jurisdiction in capturing, extraditing and incarcerating super-human convicted criminals and fugitives. The team will also count with a large support team of non-meta-humans officers. Chief among them Allie Macgruder, Operations Coordinator; Farley Mowat, Chief of Technological Development; Val Cooper, Project Administrator, answering to the Commission of Super-Human Activities; and James Macalister, NSC Liaison. From The Initiative, the S.T.A.R.S program also brought along medical officer Physique and psychological counselor Terrance “Terry” Ward, a.k.a. Trauma.

    For future membership -
Free Spirit _ Cathy Webster, one of Captain America’s former patriotic trainees, with enhanced agility and stamina.
Hardball _ A former member of the Initiative Training Program, as well as a double agent for Hydra, Roger Brokerridge is receiving his second chance with S.T.A.R.S. Hardball is capable of generating balls of energy though his hands. The youngest of the team, Roger gravitates toward Volcana and Sundown for being seen with the same suspicion as her by his teammates, although he gets less harder time from the Texas Twister. Roger also used to have a relationship with Kommodo.
Cybermancer _ accomplished engineer Suzi Endo, who used a piece of an other-dimensional Cybermancer armor to build her own Her armor allows her to fly, fire armor piercing diamond missiles and EM scramblers and transform her flight cape into an adamantium hard photon shield. The suit also has incredible sensor capabilities and enhances her strength and Suzi is constantly updating its offensive capabilities with other gadgets. Cybermancer will bring even more scientific expertise on the field. 30 T

    Plus, you can also have:

Not everybody in the American Government is happy with the creation of the S.T.A.R.S. unit, and a few more extreme hardliners promote the development of a top secret and more controllable task force called Freedom Force using updated old superhuman enhancement programs of the US Government. Among its members are much more powerful versions of:

Crimson Commando – Rafael Delgado. Enhanced senses and physical attributes. Combat specialist. Cold as ice. Field-leader of the new Freedom Force.
Super Sabre – Bartolomeu “Barty” North. Super-speed. Able to reach Mach 3. His mouth is as fast as his feet.
Stonewall – Angus Moore. Enhanced strength and invulnerability. The strong and silent type. (30T)
Sparkler – Virginia King. Flight due to a sparkling energy field that can explode most of what it comes in contact with. Beautiful, but deadly.
Codename: Shard – Dr. Sara Hu is able to accompany the team on missions in her hard-light hologram form, thanks to some future tech she acquired, and, as such, is FF’s tech expert on the field. Her holographic form can become intangible at will, fire hard photons blasts and interface with most technologies. A high-tech bracelet worn by her inert form, allows her to manifest as a hologram, which can accompany the team thanks to transmitters embedded in the uniforms of all members.
Firepower – Richard “Dick” Johnson, (birth name George Brown). The retooled armored soldier for hire. Massive offensive and defensive capabilities. His civilian name is actually a fabrication. A self-serving mercenary. (90T)
Airborne – Lt. Samantha Severance, U.S. Navy pilot - dishonorably discharged, was part of the Shadow Force program, a covert ops program designed to give convicts temporary superhuman powers. The program was composed mainly of military prisoners, and Sam was doing time for having murdered her abusive husband. Most of the test subjects of the project died as a result of the experiment with the exception of Sam, and one other, who, accidentally, had their powers permanently grafted to their genetic structure. In exchange for their freedom, Airborne and her former teammate were placed in Freedom Force. Severance’s body generates an explosive energy which allows her to fly at supersonic speeds and fire explosive blasts. Unofficially, Sam is the Commando’s second in command in the field.
Oversize – Sgt. Kyle Ramsey, U.S. Army - dishonorably discharged, is the only other survivor of the Shadow Force program. Kyle is the strongest member of Freedom Force. His growing abilities are powered by internal energies generated by his body as a result of the Shadow Force project. At normal height these energies already give him the strength to bench-press about 2 tons, at his maximum height of 40 ft. Ramsey is in the superhuman class 60 range. His usual 15 ft. size places him in the superhuman class 20 category. The larger Oversize grows the more resistant to injury he becomes.

Firepower was a Cross Technology project for the American Government, later abandoned in favor of the Judge and Jury project, that has been updated. Crimson Commando, Stonewall, Super-Sabre and Sparkler are new versions of the members of the Patriot Initiative, a WWII program of covert operatives that artificially activated latent super-human abilities, later on found out to be recessive X-Factors, an experimental project that served as basis for the Genoshan Gengineer process. Codname Shard is result of future tech obtained and studied during Shard’s time as a member of X-Factor. Oversize and Airborne are the survivors of the defunct Shadow Force Project. Freedom Force is the American Government’s answer to independent super-teams such as the Avengers and the Fantastic Four.

Plus, any team with Wonder Man on it is better than one without him!

My thing is to have them meet the requirements for being a federal agent in the real world. Some of those are former criminals and Wild Child is a Canadian Citizen. This is not just about putting a bunch of people with powers together but it is assembling a team of super powered individuals to work as federal agents in investigating and hunting super criminals.
All I wanted was to be unconditionally loved while never having to work on my flaws. Is that so much to ask?

Also, I'm not sure if Melati is a US citizen.... *looks it up* oh, seems like she is.

I like the idea of using Initiative members since a lot of them are barely used now.

    ^^^Agreed.
Veda herself could work as a member of the Tiger Division.

Plus, any team with Wonder Man on it is better than one without him!

Silver Sable and the Heroes for Hire

There's more competition for mercenary work these days than there's ever been, and everyone claims to be some kind of specialist. Wanting more of an edge, Silver Sable decided to buy the rights to the Heroes for Hire team from Luke Cage and Ironfist, expecting that to give her a boost in "name value".

Silver Sable: Leader of the Heroes for Hire, politician, and business woman, Silver Sable is basically a female James Bond if he ran his Majesty's Secret Service instead of just working for it.

Luke Cage and Ironfist: What Cage and 'Fist didn't realize when they sold out is that Sable has really good lawyers and the contract considered their employment part of the company's assets. So, they'rre stuck on the team, whether they like it or not.

Scarlet Spider Desperate for a place to stay and a paycheck, oh, and if he can keep people from messing with his head that would be nice too. The recurring joke is that everyone on the team "knows" he's really Spider-man even if he claims to be a different guy.

SoloWhere Solo lives Terror DIES!... This guy is exactly what you'd get if the Punisher lived on nothing but double espressos and five hour energy drinks. He's very much a shoot first and forget to ask questions type. The guy has no chill.

Rocket Racer: A super hero that has never had an Uncle Ben or Stamford moment. Despite being vastly underpowered, he's always managed to pull ahead,. mostly through luck, and he's positive that he doesn't need any advice from "old people." He's doing just fine, thank you.

Nocturne Once a NY police officer, Nocturne left that life behind her when she was turned into a winged mutation. Although she can talk, she finds speech difficult and mostly communicates by empathic abilities. Since her transformation she's been desperately lonely, and while she makes little effort to actually make friends, she appreciates having people around her.

Puma Puma can be either an honorable protector of his tribe and skilled buisnessman, or little more than a savage snarling beast. The more he's hurt or has to rely on his animalistic abilities, the more animal like his mind becomes. Generally, Nocturne can be counted on to pull him back to his normal mindset, but not always. Puma also has a deep routed hatred for Spider-man. While everybody else is convinced Scarlet Spider is just Spider-man in a different costume, Puma can tell there's something off about the guy. He just isn't sure what yet.

Annex the Augmented Man He's a good soldier. He does what he's told and he wants the group to be able to work better as a team and not have any secrets that may jeopardize missions, sadly most of his teammates don't seem to agree with this idea.

Battlestar Battlestar has been the sidekick to a Captain America, a member of Silver Sable's Wildpack, fought against the superheroes registration act during the Civil War, fought the Marvel Zombies, and generally has been a lot more places and done more than people tend to remember. Out of the team here, he's the one most dedicated to being a superhero as well as the most loyal to Silver Sable. Those two things sometimes get in the way of each other.
