Expanding on my earlier entry, when the Avengers of The Galaxy/Galactic Avengers decide to go their separate ways, Captain Marvel sets out to recruit a new team. A cosmic Kooky Quartet, if you will.

CAPTAIN MARVEL - The Living Legend!

    YONDU - The Amazing Archer!

    FANTASIA - The Witchy Woman!

THE RUNNER - The Super Speedster!

The wiley Centaurian Yondu, is in it for the fun, and to keep Captain Marvel honest. Fantasia’s human appearance hides her being a Dire Wraith, which might be an issue as to who’s side she’s really on, not to mention Rom’s reaction if and when he shows back up. And The Runner, is well, running. From his fellow Elders of The Universe, who are after him w. bad intentions.

What do you get when you put together…

    …a millionaire playboy
    his spiritual adviser
    a Norse goddess
    her archeologist BFF
    a fierce feline fashionista
    everyone’s favorite New Warrior
    his powered up pet pussycat
a gorilla with the mind of a man
    and a human robot?

You'll probably notice that this is a very size morphing team that is started by Antman and Wasp.

The governments of the world are sick and tired of having to suck up to the likes of Nick Fury and Tony Stark. Protecting innocents from superhuman crises shouldn't be privatized, nor should it be a luxury given only to those who have an in with the deepest levels of the intelligence community. The United Nations Security Council wants a team that's accountable to them, with the appropriate flexibility to save lives. They've commissioned a team representing the brightest minds and strongest warriors in the world.

    Meet The Invaders.

Captain America / Steve Rogers / United States of America
The obvious choice to represent the United States and a master tactician. The only catch is that, in order to ensure that this appears to be a global coalition and not America and its Amazing Friends, Steve isn't allowed to be the leader. Steve's a humble man, but he's not sold on the problem-solving methods of the team's frontman. He seems a little too... Tony.

Sunspot / Roberto DaCosta / Brazil
Far from being part of the idle rich, Bobby's put his money towards serving his home country (and filling up his time now that Sam's busy with his wife and kid). He's "earned" a sweet gig as Brazil's rep on the Invaders, and as a well-renowned executive, he's the natural choice to lead.

Coal Tiger / Shuri / Wakanda
Wakanda may be isolationist, but there's certain crises that demand intervention. T'Challa's busy running the country back home and doing other superheroics. His sister is a natural choice to serve as his substitute, and while the title of Black Panther is taken, the lost, Silver Age mantle of 'Coal Tiger' is still open...

Excalibur / Faiza Hussain / United Kingdom
Every team needs a medic, and Faiza Hussain certainly fits the bill. The Captains Britain were considered for the spot, but the prospect of allowing Krakoans with dual loyalties onto the team disturbs the UNSC.

    Sersi / Greece
She's technically a Greek national, right? She positions herself as a candidate for the team, and besides, it's not like Greece has the money to fund a homegrown superhero.

Puck / Eugene Judd / Canada
Who doesn't love Puck? Even if America's rep is good ol' Steve Rogers, Canada's government is loathe to allow the continent to be solely represented by the US.

Ursa Major / Mikhail Ursus / Russian Federation
The one member of the Winter Guard who's willing to play ball with UN supervision after the whole "Red Widow" debacle. He's also the team's rough equivalent to Hulk.

Aero / Lei Ling / People's Republic of China
As a relative novice, Aero's the team's token "fish out of water" and a representative of China. She's sort of caught off guard by the pressure of being a national symbol, but luckily, she's got teammates to guide her.

    Sabra / Ruth Bat-Serpah / Israel
Israel's equivalent to Captain America and Black Widow

Grid / Dinesh Deol / India
Sure, he's a little put off that he, as India's rep, is a technopath... it doesn't help dispute the "tech support" stereotype. Regardless, he's happy to be here... But while the UNSC has been focusing on ensuring that Krakoa is kept out of the room, both they and Dinesh are unaware that he's Attilan's trojan horse into world politics.

Superheroes mixed with geopolitical intrigue. Could be very compelling.

    OMG this is money.
Love the chosen characters and the set up for each and how they relate to each other.
I laughed out loud at Grid’s being put off at being tech support!
    Great build ty for sharing.

Thanks! That's what I was shooting for! I'd probably have Andy Diggle or Greg Rucka as the writer and Leinil Yu as the artist, just to really sell that "superheroes in a political thriller" vibe.

And there came a day unlike any other, when Earth's mightiest heroes found themselves united against a common threat. On that day, they became The Avengers!

When the vile Starr- er, uh, Shuma-Gorath lays his sights on Earth, seven of the planet's greatest defenders join forces to stop him!

The righteous, blue-clad boyscout: Captain America!

The somewhat-problematic, entirely-perfectionist billionaire with a massive armory: Iron Man!

The scion of gods from another realm: Thor!

The monarch of an invisible kingdom: Black Panther!

A cosmic protector, given the impossibly powerful Nega Bands by a dying alien: Captain Marvel!

A humorous, scarlet superhuman known for his scientific prowess and his colorful band of enemies: Spider-Man!

    A green-clad outsider and/or a technopath extraordinaire: Vision!

Wait, hold on a fucking second...

You're welcome, and those would be good choices, too.

Start by having them surface in other stories before getting their own book.
