Congratulations to seismic-2 for a beautiful cover. The fact that Jack Kirby drew it is even more surprising as the emotion and detail are aspects of art Kirby seldom used to this extent. The eyes are the point of the cover and the youth shown on the soldier despite the trappings makes the portrait even more powerful.

The captain had learned that Kinch was replaced by another character on Hogan's heroes. He had always thought it was like Darren on Bewitched where there was an actor switch.

As to the bravery and sacrifice of soldiers, the captain has always known that.

2 votes: foxley, Scott Taylor, Tami, worstblogever

And we have a stalemate with four votes each for Kirby101 and seismic-2. Will someone cast the deciding vote?

Note: one vote was cast to WBE. Rather than being discarded, it has been attributed to worstblogever.
Sorry for the confusion, but I voted WBE because that's sort of worstblogever's nickname going way back to the old boards.....and shorter to type

No problem, though I had to hunt around a bit before I realised who the vote was for. If it's one thing my experience as a vote tallier (here and in other places) has taught me, it is that ambiguity always causes trouble…

    And congratulations to seismic-2!
