There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!

Kirby101. Joe Kubert shows us that a simple b/w sketch can say everything that needs saying. Anything more just detracts from the message.

Love the story of the Waves in WWII. Incidentally, they were one of the first racially integrated forces.

    The Lincoln Brigade.

The volunteer Lincoln Brigade was the first American military force to include blacks and whites, the first integrated army in American history.

The U.S gov did not officially and to this day refuse to recognize them.

Racially integrated US forces are even older than that. Charles Ball wasn't even the first black man to serve in the US Navy.

Yes. Thanks for pointing them out. I think the US military didn't officially back off of the segregation stance until sometime after WW2, though it was something that definitely happened out of practicality well before that time.

The greatest example being, of course, the Hogan's Heroes regiment headed by Colonel Robert Hogan during WWII.
