That brings back memories. I used to read it when I was an Army Reservist.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
    In Flanders fields.

From Vung Tau riding Chinooks to the dust at Nui Dat
I'd been in and out of choppers now for months
And we made our tents a home, V.B. and pinups on the lockers
And an Asian orange sunset through the scrub

WestPhilly almost had me with the Kennedy tribute...

But that Kirby cover that seismic-2 says it all. Gotta give them the nod this week.

I vote Tami this week for tracking down (with some help) a comic featuring a servicewoman.

As "realistic" as some of the gents on these covers.
There are lot's of great covers featuring Mademoiselle Marie / Mlle. Marie
Just look for her through DC's Star Spangled War Stories, she even got a 12" Joe figure.

Miss Fury (although she wore a costume, it arguably just amped her natural innate power) one of the first created and drawn by a woman, was right there fighting the Axis. https://box00.comicbookplus.com/view...140db187/0.jpg

Although not in uniform, cause she was undercover fighting Nazis infiltrating Latin America.

    A more contemporary vision ...

    Of course Lady Jaye -https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/...20070301202944

and Lady Blackhawk, although maybe you thought they might venture over into "Superhero" territory?

Also not on the vintage cover, so sadly ignored, but along with Pat Parker "War Nurse" they have been collected under one cover ...

    Girl Commandos!
