They are besties. I prefer the Storm + Betsy or Storm + Gambit as besties. I also enjoyed (most of the time) the Storm + Wolverine friendship. But no doubt Jean is the closest female friendship for Ororo. Hopefully we get to see it portrayed as a true sisterhood (the good and the bad) so readers can recognize the depths of their relationship.
