    Default CENSORED DC art/stories?

(..well maybe not so much censored as rejected by editors/"No can do")

Know any examples? Here's some Ive seen or heard about :

Nude Batgirl change scene in Batman adventures special

Jesus as a character in Swamp thing (post Alan Moore period)

    Elseworlds 80 page giant

    Preacher - sex detectives one-shot

Greg Rucka gave a talk at a con about a rejected Batman story he had. It featured a bunch of women Bruce dated telling stories about how he ducked out on dates with all of them. The girls suddenly come to a conclusion. Bruce is..... gay! The ladies feel sorry for him being alonein that big "closet" of a mansion and vow to protect his "secret life"....

    Others?

It's not quite censorship, but Ellis' "Shoot" issue of Hellblazer was canned at the last minute due to, IIRC, Colombine. It got printed for the first time a few years back.

For SUPERMAN 297 (March 1976), there was originally a hint that Lois Lane had spent the night with Clark Kent. A coy line from Steve Lombard, observing that she was still wearing the same dress as yesterday, was changed to have him observe she was wearing a new dress. Editor Julie Schwartz has insisted on the line change--which upset Elliot Maggin the scripter, who stopped working on Superman for Schwartz soon after that, because of this kind of interference (but he did come back to the editor a few years later on).

Let's not forget about the Bat-wang incident of 2019.....

I have always thought Lois wearing the same dress was kind of stupid, FWIW.

Loads of censorship happened to Mark Millar's run on The Authority.

Also of course, The Boys wound up leaving for another publisher because DC wouldn't publish what Garth Ennis wanted.

IIRC it was worse than that.

What was possibly already root beer was changed to "Soda" to make it clear that it wasn't any kind of beer - root or otherwise.

Alan Moore inserted a dig at Marvel in one of his League books and it was pulled. It wasn't even a line a character said, it was just an ad from the era. It was one of the reasons he left.
