Default Popeye’s new chicken sandwich is to die for...

...and get seriously injured over, apparently.

    https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.kan...237221196.html

Saw this on the news as I was channel surfing.
Lots of violence seemingly connected to the franchise’s new Sammy.
There was a clip where an employee slammed a 50+ year old woman to the ground, breaking her ribs and knee. Hardcore.
An anger management expert was interviewed by the news channel and had a theory about how we aren’t connected any more and are going into situations already expecting to get screwed over and so have our fuse lit already.
But damn, it’s just a sandwich, ppl.

There is a Popeye's restaurant on the corner of the intersection and across from the grocery store where my family shops every week. The last two of times we've made the grocery run, we've noticed insanely long lines of traffic trying to go through the drive through at that Popeye's.

One of the cross streets is a major one-way street; so this creates havoc trying to get out of the Kroger parking or through the intersection at all. Especially since some of the people trying to get into Popeye's drive-through didn't seem to care that they were sitting in the middle of the intersection and blocking traffic when other people had the green light and the right-of-way.

I agree: it's just a freakin sandwich. Get over it.

I used to like Popeye's but the ones in my area are dicey. The one near where I used to work was the worst. We even had out of town contractors go there for lunch and say it was the worst one they had been to. Bad/slow service, food not so good compared to others for some reason. There is another one near my old neighborhood and that one was pretty good. But my problem is that I don't like how the way the season things all the same, it just go boring. I don't care for seasons fries for example. I liked the dirty rice instead.

I think if every one just waits it out, they will become blase about this sandwich too after a while. People just want to take a selfie showing they ate one. No one freaks out for the Big Mac anymore

I can't imagine getting into a physical fight with anyone over food.

That sounds like the first Popeye's I ever went to. I was curious and on the road, plus it was close to the hotel in a city in Virginia I had never been to before that night. The employees just didn't seem to give the slightest, and the food wasn't very good. I remember the chicken being dry.

I only gave a different one a try after I moved to Nevada - I went to the restaurant counters at a gas station where I live on a lunch break from work (I had to stay at a hotel for my first week of work and decided to try the local places) and was initially planning on hitting a BBQ joint at the other counter, only to discover that the service was about the same speed as the cooking. Not wanting to be late, I went to the other counter, which was a Popeye's, and what a difference a staff that gives a damn makes. Sadly, neither one is still there. The BBQ place got a bad reputation for the slow service, and the Popeye's was killed by an 18 hour power outage. The food went bad in that time and they didn't have the overhead to replace the entire inventory at once. I miss the sides, KFC has a variety too, except that I don't like anything outside of the wedges and mashed potatoes.
