    Thats why he wasn't character assassinated on page, they wanted to do it off panel, what probably saved the carácter.
    Cyclops only appeared in one book before the Terrigen non-sense, and wasn't even the main X-men team, it had nothing to do with "wanting other characters in the spotlight". The issue is that someone at Marvel held a grudge that the vast majority of fans sided with Cyclops and the X-men in AvX (and Schism to a lesser extent). If it was "wanting other characters in the spotlight" they wouldn't have kept insisting on that "Cyclops was wrong" and "Emma is evil" bullshit until one week before House of M.

    The only terrible thing Cyclops was shown doing was killing Xavier while under possession and some people think he had it worse
