Dragonball M, Chapter 4: Kidnapping! Invasion! A new Threat Strikes First!

"...that Saiyan just killed Oggod," one of his contemporaries noted with a mote of disbelief.

"Hmph," grunted the biggest of them. "The fool didn't fight at full power. A mistake I won't make!"

"None of us will. Let us fight this mysterious creature together."

With that, the three remaining lieutenants of Tundra's then dwindling army flew out to meet the incoming Totoma, leaving the lone general behind.

The previously intimidating and awe-inspiring army that had been laying siege to Ruco was steadily being chipped away at, its numbers steadily falling. Seeing Totoma turn Super Saiyan did exactly what he hoped it would, inspiring the other Saiyans to fight even harder than they had before. Not only did their ferocity increase, but their morale did also. Seeing a Super Saiyan fight by their side was a boon that many didn't think they would receive.

The three met Totoma and immediately surrounded him. "Hm. You have more power than we thought a Saiyan capable of generating. But now you face Blanko!"

"Skullos, Lord of the Edge!"

"And Ohknee! You stand no chance against our combined might!!"

Three out of the four came to meet him, which meant that the last guy was probably the leader of this army... and probably the strongest. He felt confident he could take on these three at once, but he knew enough to not get cocky. Lots of times he and the others had fought someone massively more powerful than any individual member of their group, only to emerge victorious because of teamwork... or the enemy getting overconfident. Ah, what was that saying...?

Pride cometh before the fall or something.

In any case, he had to do this without wasting too much energy. Yeah, he still had plenty of reserves--and he had yet to go... full boar--but he had a feeling he'd need to pull out all the stops to emerge victorious from this. Still...

He glanced downward for a moment, noting that he was, indeed, over the water. Good, that meant that if he needed to, he could dip down there to recharge or heal. He sort of wanted to try for a zenkai or two, but in this situation... too risky. But hey, if it happened to, er, happen, then great!

"Totoma, the Just Saiyan," said Totoma, pointing at the three with both his arms and his tail. Suddenly, his palm shot up and he released blasts at all three of them, two from his palms and one from the tip of his tail. It wasn't something he used much anymore, but he had trained himself to use his tail as a weapon--not something your typical saiyan would think to do.



Summoning forth the nine-toothed rake, Totoma charged at Ohknee while he was hopefully reeling from his blast and swung the odd weapon in a wide arc at the... purple elf... goat... guy.

"Ero...." The Id seemed to mull the suggestion for a moment. "No use talking kid out of fight....Id strong. Ok....Ok I come with. But little monkey follow Erosa lead ok? Fight when needed, save monkeys more important."

Erosa turned to Dash. "It good to be prepared....but no use to prepare only to be too late to do anything. We don't need to fight or die, just stall. Hit and run, sneaky sneaky, save people....undertstand?"

Eyes downward, Dash then looked up and walked over to the sink. Dropping off the dishes, her cloak then wrapping it's self around her ponytail, she turned to the kid, "Hit an run. We can't stop them if they kill us first." With that her training gi transformed into the Spider Armor, "Let's go before ah change my mind."

Immediately, Rex was beset; this time by...

"I see our gracious Kami has yet another new batch of whelps squatting on her property."

Noticing Shōchū besides Lantro, the girl instinctively held her weapon defensively, "Oh! I remember you. Attacked me without provocation last time. I still owe you for that."

"I see you still sport his arm," She retorted, knowing it would be a sore spot for the prideful beast. Her hunch hit the mark, as Rex audible snarled, "So you were there. Then you should know why I should not be trifled with, child."

Lantro, confused ever so slightly, formed an orb of ki in his hands and began to spin it atop his finger. "Lotta history here, even in this timeline, I see," he commented to Shochu. "Probably too much to get the full rundown. But how about a highlight reel? You've watched the tapes. What can this bastard do?"

"Alright!" Without further delay, he led the two M-Fighters through the portal and into unmitigated chaos.

The first thing Erosa and Dash would see was that the sky was literally filled with fighting. Ruco's defenders battled Tundra's army tooth and nail. The sky was alight with energy blasts, some missing and some hitting their mark dead on. Bodies from both sides fell and smacked into the ground, never to move again.

Beyond the throng of bodies was Totoma, cloaked in the golden aura of the Super Saiyan. He was currently fighting three enemies who were significantly stronger than the general soldiers, but still far weaker than him. In fact, all the invaders were well below the M-Fighters.

"I can sense some people in the city up ahead," Pinach said, pointing toward a fire and smoke ravaged city. "Let's go!"

"Alright!" Without further delay, he led the two M-Fighters through the portal and into unmitigated chaos.

The first thing Erosa and Dash would see was that the sky was literally filled with fighting. Ruco's defenders battled Tundra's army tooth and nail. The sky was alight with energy blasts, some missing and some hitting their mark dead on. Bodies from both sides fell and smacked into the ground, never to move again.

Beyond the throng of bodies was Totoma, cloaked in the golden aura of the Super Saiyan. He was currently fighting three enemies who were significantly stronger than the general soldiers, but still far weaker than him. In fact, all the invaders were well below the M-Fighters.

"I can sense some people in the city up ahead," Pinach said, pointing toward a fire and smoke ravaged city. "Let's go!"

Dash, already levitating an inch off the ground, "Lead the way."

The attack was of such power that Blanco and Skullos were blown back and landed in the water beneath them. The crystal clear water was stained with black and blue blood from the gravely injured invaders. Ohknee was also blown back, one of his wings vaporized. He could still fly under his own power, though. It seemed the wings were mostly just for show. He gritted his teeth and barely managed to get one of his swords up to block the rake that was bearing down on him. "Curse you!" he snarled as he raised his other sword above his head to hack into him.

When the Galick Cannon came barreling her way, Avoca was ready. Even though she had been hoping to have at least a little time to prepare herself -- at least a few days or weeks -- for such a trial, she knew that there was no better time than the present.

Everything in her field of view was tinted purple. She clenched her fists and prepared herself for one of two things -- either the overwhelming feeling of being filled beyond her limit, or overwhelming pain. Either way, she felt she was ready.

"Unlimited Eat Works," she said just before the beam was upon her. She opened her mouth, forming a yawning, pitch black hole with no discernible end or bottom in sight. Trying to eat an attack of this magnitude made her realize that she had only eaten small blasts. Generic ones or those energy blades that one elf guy threw at her. Never something like this. It didn't stop. Once it started getting funneled into... wherever her body stored all this ****, it didn't stop. It just kept coming and coming.

Her concentration was starting to slip when she felt a burning in her throat. Oh **** no! Suddenly, the void stopped, exposing her to the full brunt of the remaining cannon. She was flung back, fully engulfed by the attack, and slid violently across the floor.

For a long moment, she remained motionless. She was alive, but moving was a real chore and she wasn't about to do any work right then. "Ugh," she moaned, mostly to let Tasure know she was okay.

She knew exactly why her tech fizzled out. Buffet's body was designed to be able to house nearly unlimited energy. Hers wasn't. While she had been conditioned to hold some, her body just wasn't able to contain that much without burning out. A thing she would rather have learned while training than when it actually mattered.

She tried to move, but nothing was working. Guess that concludes training for the day. Ugh.

Avoca took the brunt of the attack head on, impressing Tasure with her grit. Many, yes, even a fair number of saiyans, would have instinctively dodged such an attack... especially if it were coming from her. Yet more proof that Avoca was more than willing to put her life on the line to achieve what she wanted.

However, her grit was, for now, more solid than her skill, at least with this technique, as the younger saiyan's concentration wavered causing the technique to... collapse. And then the remainder of her Galick Cannon exploded in Avoca's face. However, Tasure was confident that the half-attack that remained wasn't enough to kill her new protege.

...and when she landed next to Avoca, she was proven correct. Avoca was in no shape to continue training today, but she did still live. Picking her up, she returned to the living area and began tending to her wounds. During her short tenure in the Saiyan army--she'd gotten out of it because she hated what they did at the time--she'd had two roles. First, infiltrating behind enemy lines to get out trapped soldiers. At the time, an oft-mocked role by those who had never needed someone to rescue them.

Secondly, and this was related to that role... a medic. Mostly first aid on the field, to stabilize people, but in this case, that's all that was needed. Soon enough, Avoca was patched up and Tasure moved on to focusing on... cooking.

Yeah, she could do a bit of that, too. You didn't have one of the universe's best chefs as a mate and not pick up a trick or two. "Hmph, you did pretty good today. Shouldn't take more than a... oh, month, I'd say, to get you to ascend."

Pinach nodded and broke into a sprint. He kept his power level low because he noticed that the soldiers were wearing scouters, and thus couldn't sense power levels. If they raised them too high, they would get found out almost instantly. "Keep your powers low," he said. "They're wearing scouters, so they can't sense energy."

Returning to the ground, Dash followed his lead. Suppressing her power level, she easily kept up with him. As they moved, her armor shifted color to a darker, more neutral shade and simplifying to blend in more with the armor of the Saiyans she saw around her.

Erosa dropped into an alert stance, glancing up at the air while unconsciously lowering her profile and suppressing her power. "Weak enemies here.....and Toto is fighting the big ones. If you have to make a kill, do it quick and quiet like hunter. If he has trouble, we help." Erosa then dropped on all fours and took off along the ground like a cat, sprinting in the directly pinach had pointed out. Her hunter/killer camo triggered and even her form blurred until she was all but invisible.

Avoca's eyes woke up to find her son laying in bed with her, wide brown eyes looking over her curiously. She smiled and grabbed him to hold him close. Just knowing that she of all people was a mother was beyond her comprehension, yet every day brought something new to remind of her this fact. That she was parents with the love of her life only made it better.

'I promise, son," she said softly to Mais while he nestled into the crook of her neck, 'I'll make you and your sister proud.'

That conversation hadn't taken place in real life, but it had replayed in her head over and over again that it felt like reality. As her eyes fluttered open, she came to a realization. This would be the longest she had ever gone without at least hearing from her kids. She would never admit it out loud, but she missed them, and she couldn't stop wondering if they were safe. Parsley sent them away with a servant with implicit instructions to get them somewhere safe. At the time, any of the colonies were safer than Vocado. She feared -- a real primordial fear -- that the servant brought them to Ruco.

If something happened to them, she would just...

She swallowed and erased that thought from her mind. She needed to focus on her training so she could get stronger. Worrying about her children would only distract her. She needed to trust that whoever was on the outside was taking care of the invasion and, if needed, would save her twins.

She sat up to find that her wounds had been tended to and Tasure was cooking. The last thing she remembered was everything in her line of sight turning purple after she failed to absorb all the Galick Cannon. It was a good first try, but it wasn't good enough. Well, it's only day one. They had six months to come as close to perfect as they could. There was no need to try and get it all finely tuned in one day. Better to take her time than rush and develop a bad habit that couldn't be broken in time.

Sighing, she got up, wincing with each step.

"Hmph, you did pretty good today. Shouldn't take more than a... oh, month, I'd say, to get you to ascend."

"Good," she replied. "I think I'll have to if I plan on improving these techniques." She moved into the kitchen and started helping with the dish. Out of the two of them, she was a far better cook than Parsley was. She supposed the prodigy couldn't excel at everything.

What was an issue was that the city was riddled with soldiers. They were preoccupied with trying to coax the people barricaded in the buildings to come out. They fired relentlessly, pelting the buildings with powerful blasts that shook the already weak structures. There seemed to be about twenty-five in total in that particular block.

They could also feel that there were about fifteen innocent civilians inside those structures.

Pinach stole away behind a large piece of debris to avoid detection. "Should we split up?" he whispered.

Pitch black smoke billowed into the sky like ominous clouds, making visibility up above difficult. Since they were approached from the ground, however, that wasn't an issue.

"Erosa think drawing attention means making a scene, and making a scene means more invaders ero....invaders will notice powerful enemy and come. This good and bad." Erosa paused, sizing up the closest building and its attackers. "Erosa can make quick work of weaklings without being seen. We need safe place to bring survivers and safe path to bring them on. Little Pinach, you know any safe place nearby? Quick Dash....you can keep a safe path for people to get away, keep invaders from knowing? If so....Erosa will hit invaders around buildings and get them out."
