    Default The Mandalorian

Man, I'd say this show alone was worth the price of admission for Disney+ that was an utterly fantastic first episode. With out spoiling it, with the reveal of just what the bounty was on at the end I'm hoping the rest of the series will sort of play off of Lone Wolf and Cub which would definitely fit in with the spaghetti western feel the show has going for it.

My only real gripe comes down to just how dark a couple of the scenes were, not tonally mind you but literally. I don' t know if those few interior scenes were just shot with low light and that's how they were supposed to look similar to the night episodes in the last season of Game of Thrones or if its an issue with my tv. I have a pretty good samsung tv and have never had an issue with brightness or contrast with anything else in the past but I've never changed the settings from where they were out of the box so perhaps this is a case where settings are important. Anyone else have that issue?

    A-
    -Some FX work is off
    -Some dialogue doesn't totally work
    -Overacting in some scenes

Overall it's worth the price of admission or the free trial. It's a great start for Disney+

Is it weird that I liked that some of the VFX wasn't perfect? It made it feel throwback in all the best ways.

    Fantastic episode though.

I absolutely loved the first episode of this. The costuming and set direction are perfect for the universe, and easily capture that lived in feeling of the original trilogy. The main character has a great look, is clearly a badass, and I was impressed how much Pascal was able to bring to the role with just the small amount of lines here. He manages to give a bit of character without a whole lot to work with.

Hints at the backstory, world building possibilities galore and largely solid FX (I only really noticed one legit poor scene, and there were several excellent FX shots). As hyped as I was for this, it lived up to it in spades. And I genuinely don't know what to make of that ending. I really hope the rest of the series can maintain this level of quality.

The one I mentioned catching in my post is the last shot of the Blurg (spelling? I have no idea) ride. The Mando and Nick Nolte's guide alien ride away from the camera into a setting sun. And the cg, in just this one shot, is terrible. Pre-Phantom Menace terrible. It was the one shot in the entire episode that stood out as just poorly done to me. I didn't have any problems with any of the rest of the FX.

We look forward watching it one day too!
I'm glad the first episode was good!

Does anyone think this will ever be released to DVD/Blu-Ray?
Or is Disney going to stop allowing physical media be sold since they have a streaming service now?

Default The Maicolorian - Podcasting Is A Complicated Business.

Maico Moreno returns to The Comic Relief Podcast – as we discuss The Mandalorian on Disney+. Maico also opens up as to why he’d been absent and his health that kept him from being a part of the podcast for all the episodes over the last two years.

It felt great to have Maico back on the podcast and feeling that chemistry once again between he and I. (And I mean that in a heterosexual way, I swear!) Amiee will continue to also be a co-host also, with it being myself, Amiee and Maico, or just myself and Amiee, or myself and Maico! The podcast that’s all about threesomes! Wait – that’s not what I meant!

Listen – why don’t we just get to it?

It's on the main page but it seems like Temura Morrison might return...as Boba Fett. It was possibly guessed that he was maybe the guy approaching the Ming-Na character on Tatooine.

If Ahsoka is in it could we also see Rex in live-action?

I didn't see a source, but CBR is claiming that the creatives confirmed that Fett was the shadow that found Fennec Shand's body in season 1.

The most interesting thing about this, straight up, is not Boba. I'm honestly a little disappointed, though unsurprised, that they're going there. And supposedly it's a minor role. No, what's more interesting is that if Morrison is already around for Boba Fett, Rex should be on the table as well.

If the still unconfirmed reports about Ahsoka appearing are indeed true, then I would hope we get at least a Rex sighting out of it as well.

And hey, if nothing else I think I trust Favreau and Filoni to find some way to make Boba Fett interesting. He's the most overhyped and overblown character in the entire franchise, but in F and F I have faith.

Technically they don't have to have Temura in the suit-after all, originally Boba was Jeremy Bulloch in the suit with Jason Wingreen as the voice (and later Morrison of course), kind of like with a lot of the other masked characters (Including, of course, Vader). Also it would keep some of the mystique about not seeing Boba under the mask; I mean, we obviously know that he looks like Temura Morrison, Daniel Logan or the in-between version (Bodie Taylor) but we don't know *exactly* what he looks like in the OT timeframe. Certainly I'm thinking he'd have a few scars after the Sarlacc, perhaps (I think the old EU hinted at that too).

If he does appear "in the flesh" it would be more suitable for Rex, given that Rex, like Morrison, has clearly aged; whereas Boba would only be in his late 30s or early 40s by the time of Mandalorian if I'm counting right (Technically, Rex and Boba are the same age but Rex of course has been accelerated).

To be honest Boba hasn't really gotten much play outside of the comics (they didn't even get to do his final Clone Wars arc outside an animatic) so I'm sure one way or another this will be a memorable appearance for him.

I want to know what happened to Cody and the Bad Batch (although considering how dramatically different they look I'm not sure Morrison could really pull it off).
