Gwen Stacy running for President reminds one of Tracy Flick in ELECTION, which to be honest is far more Comics!Gwen than what we see in this series.

Seeing Gwen and Harry before they met Peter is so weird and interesting.

John Romita Jr. said explicitly multiple times that when Lee decided to make Peter/Gwen happen that Lee told him to copy MJ’s looks for Gwen.

Spectacular Spider-Man alluded to that when Gwen has her hairstyle changed from earlier seasons to a more familiar and classic look that MJ had remodelled for her.

Earlier seasons? Spec only had two. Huh, that's funny, because Gwen changed her hair early in season 2 of the current cartoon as well, though for different reasons.

I don't think this book is concerned with matching up to early comic Gwen.

I don't think it's Flash, even if it's weird that there is apparently another jock character in a Spider-Man related title who appears to be Flash in all but name.

...at least she isn't perpetually wearing the outfit she died in... You would think Gwen never wore other clothes with how often she is portrayed in that outfit.
