First place ex aequo:
1. Fallen Angels - has my favorite in it, but also it was more amazing then I thought it would be. I prefer the darker titles, and Hill is doing amazing job with it, molding Kwannon into the character I want to know more about.
1. X-Force - second dark title, I never thought I'd be interested in a Black Tom, but damn, it was amazing. Logan without pink glasses, concerned how vulnerable safety makes others. Also, after what happened to Domino (my second fave) the feelings stayed with me the longest.
3. Marauders - astonishing Kate Pryde, curios how and why her Krakoa ban would play, but also what will be with Bishop and his mission. Hope the next issues will let other characters shine.
4. New Mutants - I loved how calm and shiny it was, the first part especially part with Wolfsbane and walk through Akademos Habitat.
4. Excalibur - still pretty good, but I'll have to wait for 2 issue, it was a bit too slow with characters and much world build-up, I guess?
6. X-Men - yeah, I just don't think this one is for me. The only one not to be collected, not a fan of dialogue, definitely not a fan of art. And we’ve already seen 2 of it.
If, let's say, I'm on a beach focused on this one 'first' wave and it's actually the second wave I'm looking at, would I even notice the first wave break against me?
The best thing in the #1's was Kitty bashing into the gate, and then the band-aide and then the stroll and chat with Emma. But that's it. I liked Corsair getting freaked out by Scott's dream house.
Considering how much I really really liked HoxPox and how very little I like about any of these #1's my sinking feeling is that it's me.
The wave breaks and I never liked beaches anyway.
I love the ocean. Just not the beaches.
This is beach lit (to me).
I have a feeling it's me who isn't really into current superhero comics anymore. HoxPox is like this amazing graphic novel. Kinda.
These single issues feel fake.
Um, like people who don't fight and wouldn't, expressing ultra violence.
Like people who don't say mean things to people saying mean things at everybody.
Like people without active healthy sex lives talking about sex lives.
Like body horror outside the body.
Like people who don't have a good sense of humor about life's contradictions, paradoxes and confusions making fun of everything.
I know that's not what it is. It's me.
Um, yea.
I think it's me.
Ranking #1's and binging series seems really silly to me.
