A white woman who passed herself off as a black person for years even running a Naacp chapter. One of the large reasons Psylocke is back her real body is because of some awkwardness of them using her as Asian Representation and she really wasn't that. It is not a problem white person with martial art background but they weren't going to keep her heavily invested in martial art and Japanese culture immediately after the change. They had to give it some space or face some of the small backlash of again using a white person instead of an Asian. Then you also have to remember that Marvel head editor for a while was a white man running around pretending to be an Asian writer Yoshida Akira.
Y'all are a little extra with the whole "all of Betsy's fans" thing. It's a small, albeit loud, group of like the same five or six people who say negative things. Most other people either are also supporting Kwannon or just truly don't care.
Being fair here, in the pre-body swap flashbacks in Revanche's death issue, Matsu'o repeatedly calls Kwannon "Little Butterfly". Presumably, he got the name from somewhere....
I think it was a colourist error (it's meant to be Kwannon, but coloured as Betsy), and rather than fix it, it was compounded by editorial using it as Betsy on the cast page.

Except for the opening monologue, I really enjoyed this first issue. Thinks it's my top X book post House and Powers.
This was decent. Kid Cable was tolerable here, and Kwannon is definitely my Psylocke, as a late 80s to early 90s Jim Lee X-fanboy. And I enjoy Laura. She’s the only Wolverine offspring I can stand.
British ninja Betsy is forever unusable due to the Akira Yashida thing.
