    Best: Spider-Verse

    Worst: Spider-Island and Spidergeddon.

    Best

    -- Acts of Vengeance since that gave us a goddamn good story with Cosmic Spider-Man.

    -- Secret Wars '84 still the best showing of Spider-Man as character from writing and character impact in any Marvel event.

    -- Civil War, the main event was trash, but JMS' Civil War tie-ins and Back in Black is awesome.

    -- HUNTED would have to be the best Spider-Man centric event complete with awesome ".HU" one-shots.

    Worst
    -- Superior Spider-Man.

    It kinda depends on your definition of event.

    But Kraven's Last Hunt could count. It was a crossover that took over three titles for two months, and featured Spider-Man believed dead.

    The worst event is probably the worst crossover of the clone saga.

    I don't know if you can concider it as an event, but the Birth of Venom was very fun to read.

    Since it's alright to mention events that happened before OMD, I'll go ahead and choose...

    Round Robin: The Sidekick's Revenge!

    Definitely best, IMHO.

    Spidey has loads of great events in his long history. Immediately coming to mind are Ends of the Earth, KLH, Dying Wish/Superior Spider-man and I'll will always have a soft-spot for Spider-Hunt (and Identity Crisis to a lesser extent).

    And then there is The Gathering of Five/Final Chapter.

    Because I apparently hate myself, I recently payed actual money for the trade to revisit and see if it was as awful as I remember. On the plus side, it wasn't exactly as bad as I remember. On the negative side; it was worse.
    "Has Sariel summoned you here, Azrael? Have you come to witness the miracle of your brethren arriving on Earth?"

    "I WILL MIX THE ASHES OF YOUR BONES WITH SALT AND USE THEM TO ENSURE THE EARTH THE TEMPLARS TILLED NEVER BEARS FRUIT AGAIN!"

    "*sigh* I hoped it was for the miracle."

    Dan Watters' Azrael was incredible, a constant delight and perhaps too good for this world (but not the Forth). For the love of St. Dumas, DC, give us more!!!

    Awesome! It was a wonderful story, and Marvel's Epic Collections are pleasingly economical (IMHO).
