Default Artist Tom Lyle Passed Away

Artist Tom Lyle passed away from complications of an aneurysm.

He was known for his work during the Clone Saga, and designing the Scarlet Spider costume. He co-created Annex and was one of the illustrators on Maximum Carnage.

Bill Sienkiewicz did a portrait in his honor.

Dan Slott wrote about his impact.

Sorry to hear that legendary Spider-Man artist, Tom Lyle has passed away. Tom's work on both Spidey and the Scarlet Spider were epic. That Scarlet Spider design, Tom's design, will always be an amazing touchstone for Spidey fans like me and all generations past, present & future.
He has spent the last few years as a teacher at Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD) so we'll soon see the work of people he's taught as they enter the comics world.
    Sincerely,
    Thomas Mets

Sad news. That Scarlet Spider costume has lasted so long via Lyle's design. RIP.
