Default Entertainment Weekly's 15 best comics of the decade

    https://ew.com/books/2019/11/21/the-...of-the-decade/

Just thought it'd be interesting to share. I'd say these are all great and can't argue with them being here. Some I haven't read though, but heard great things all around.

    They are:
    1. Saga (Image)
    2. Batman (DC)
    3. Black Hammer (Dark Horse)
    4. Daytripper (DC/Vertigo)
    5. FF (Marvel)
    6. Hawkeye (Marvel)
    7. House of X/Powers of X (Marvel)
    8. Last Look (Pantheon Graphic Library)
    9. Lumberjanes (Boom! Box)
    10. Mister Miracle (DC)
    11. Monstress (Image)
    12. Ms. Marvel (Marvel)
    13. My Favorite Thing Is Monsters (Fantagraphics)
    14. The Nemo Trilogy (Top Shelf)
    15. Young Avengers (Marvel)

It should be noted that only Saga was considered the best, with the rest being in alphabetical order rather than by ranking them in quality. Descriptions and pictures in the link.

    What do you think?

Young Avengers shouldn't be on the list.
    Pull List:

Marvel Comics: Venom, X-Men, Black Panther, Captain America, Eternals, Warhammer 40000.
    DC Comics: The Last God

I haven't read ANY of them, so I can't comment.

Black Hammer, Monstress, and Ms. Marvel have been on my read list for a while now. I've really enjoyed them; so it's nice to see them get some recognition.

I may have to give serious thought about picking up some of those other titles on the list; as they haven't been on my radar.
Pull List: The Black Hammer, Bitch Planet, Copperhead, Hellboy/BPRD, Monstress, Ms. Marvel, Southern Cross

I started clicking on the links and when I saw they really meant Fraction's FF, I had roll my eyes. And I always thought his Hawkeye was overrated. Hickman's Fantastic Four should have been on this list, not Fraction's FF.

    Daytripper (DC/Vertigo)
    FF (Marvel)
    Hawkeye (Marvel)
House of X/Powers of X (Marvel)
    Mister Miracle (DC)
    The Nemo Trilogy (Top Shelf)
Young Avengers (Marvel) (I've read the Gillen/McKelvie 15 issue run)

These are the seven I've read and followed. I've tried Saga and Ms Marvel, but they weren't to my liking as opposed to a quality issue.

I like these lists as they never have an exact answer and it's all up to discussion-sparking interpretation. The stuff I have read is all quite good and worthy of consideration, even if not among the actual "best" of the last 10 years. I am disappointed North and Henderson's Unbeatable Squirrel Girldidn't make it as that was a wonderful book truly for new kids and old experienced fankids alike.

I love Saga, but My Favorite Thing is Monsters should be the default #1 from those on that list.

These are those I have read and mainly agree with being on the list
    Saga (Image)
    Black Hammer (Dark Horse)
    Ms. Marvel (Marvel)
My Favorite Thing Is Monsters (Fantagraphics)

These I have read and would not make my top books of the decade list. I liked most of them, but they are far from what I consider the best of the decade.

    Batman (DC)
    Daytripper (DC/Vertigo)
    FF (Marvel)
    Hawkeye (Marvel)
House of X/Powers of X (Marvel)
    Mister Miracle (DC)
    Monstress (Image)
    The Nemo Trilogy (Top Shelf)
    Young Avengers (Marvel)

I have not read these, so cannot comment.

    Last Look (Pantheon Graphic Library)
    Lumberjanes (Boom! Box)

This is the first I have heard of Last Look.

11 Books I would have added to those on the list to make close to my top 15

    Jeff Smith's RASL
    Darwyn Cooke's Parker adaptations
Brubaker & Phillip's Criminal (I like all they have done, but Criminal would get the nod for me)
Wednesday Comics by various from DC
    Sweet Tooth by Jeff Lemire
The Sixth Gun by Cullen Bunn
Dong Xoai Vietnam 1965 by Joe Kubert
    Rachel Rising by Terry Moore
    Mouse Guard by David Petersen
Frankenstein Alive, Alive by Niles & Wrightson
The Oz books by Skottie Young & Eric Shanower

but not much is by Marvel or DC so it won't fit the profile of stuff featured in the article...

That's a matter of opinion. The simple truth is that none of those books interest me at all.

I have only read the top 3 and Mister Miracle, and am fine with them on the list, especially Saga. I agree with MRP about RASL and Parker though.
