The entire rectangle is creepy and unnatural, not to mention being used for juvenile 'teehee, they're fucking!' teases. I've seen porn handle this better. You want to have something radical like your big stars deciding to enter into a poly amorous relationship, great. But put in the work and have it come naturally from the characters.

At this point, why NOT make a deal with Mephisto? Its honestly on the same moral level as working with Actual Nazi Scientist Sinister and Wannabe Thanos Apocalypse. Mephisto could do more with less of a sacrifice on the entire part of the X-men. Just have Moira and Xavier cut a deal and play into their messianic sacrificial tendencies.

At least Sinister has motivations beyond screwing people over. Not that they’re great ones. But that’s literally all Mephisto is about.

I know people see all this and think that’s a LOT of books, but honestly, I see it as max 5. All the teams get in each other’s business and it’s just cats and mice and the occasional sheepdog.

I love my Violet cast too. Xavier is still hellbent in getting the message out that mutants can be beneficial, so he asks Dazzler to lead a World Tour full of acceptance and peace and love and crap, Mutant Gaga. Bedlam and Trinary pilot retrofit Sentinel mechs and perform all the music. Rictor learns to amplify music with his vibration powers instead of magical geokinesis. Guido and James are security. It becomes a massive love knot like Fleetwood Mac.

I went into this wanting the New Mutants to be as integrated with the other teams as Gen X and X-Men are. White was Emma coming back to her Gen X girls and turning them into her “Charlie’s Angels”... Jono becomes their Bosley and Emma’s first boy telepath protege. Meanwhile Bobby and Warren get into political messes with Sunfire, specifically.

I could do premise write ups on ALL the teams. Black is like Ocean’s Eleven meets Kill Bill, Green is like Mighty Ducks. Gold is like Morrison’s JLA in scale, scope, and intent. Teal is what X-Men is now, but with Cyclops and Domino running Krakoa like the draft.

Xavier’s should be Violet :-/ I screwed up. Apocalypse’s Purple coven of monsters is villains. Betsy’s ragtag Excalibur has to repel them from outside the Krakoan mandate.

If I had one point of feedback:

Some of these colors are too close to each other. Blue, Indigo and Teal? Too similar. Violet and Purple? Same.

As for replacements: if there can be X-Men Gold, why not X-Men Silver? That could suit the coven one, perhaps. Perhaps some more in the vein of Psi and Fire; that is, not colors. Having only two that aren't colors seems strange; but if it's more balanced, less so.

Actually, the triangle of Kurt/Ororo/Logan from the Claremont XSE was probably the first polly X- thing going. Logan was acting "odd" in that era. That was never really addressed again and I think Kurt jinxed it because anything to do with him almost never gets resolved.
