Default Could mutants help tackle the problem of scarcity?

The mutant race is full of immensely powerful beings, many of which have enough power to destroy the world. Yet with the situation of Krakoa I wonder why they are going with just drugs and nationalism. What is arguably the primary cause of evolutionary conflict is scarcity. It's probably much more likely that the Neanderthals and Homo erectus died out from less resources rather than being obsolete. If mutants use their powers to usher in a post-scarcity society, then it's possible that the very concept of human and mutant clashes will become obsolete. Can you think up of ways that mutants can tackle the problem of scarcity and why they haven't. I can imagine Omega mutants taking on a job where they can use their powers to make turbines spin, kind of like a mutant power plant. Mutant energy would obviously be quite green with little or no carbon emissions. Mutants should have shifts and comfortable working conditions of course.

Scarcity is man made. Man can fix its own mess.

Majority of the issues that cause scarcity are created by humans. Now they have no choice but to face the consequences of their actions and mutantkind has no obligation to help the savages. At this point, mutantkind wouldn't stand to gain anything by aiding humanity at this point. Humans offer nothing that mutantkind needs in the current age.

The Phoenix Five TRIED to fix the world and only got antagonized for it. As long as individuals like the Avengers are there to uphold the statu quo there will always be poverty and famine.

In other words: Mutantkind needs Onslaught to make that comeback and wipe the Avengers from the face of the Earth, again.

They could help fix things. But it would require someone standing by to watch the writers and whenever one tried to have something stupid like "but they're also evil at the same time" or "villain has been involved all along and uses the goodwill as some evil scheme everyone blames mutants for"...they spray them with a water bottle or smack them with something.

Sure, mutant powers defy the laws of physics: all this power coming out of nowhere without any undesirable consequences… The problem we have today is the way we use energy, like it will be there forever. We have acquired some habits that are troublesome in the long run. So, it's true it would be nice to have some "Deus ex machina" that will help to solve the problems we create, however, it's our way of living who needs to be changed, one that is more respectful of the natural cycles. Such awareness, it's beyond the mutants can do… not without mind control (which is bad, of course).
“Strength is the lot of but a few privileged men; but austere perseverance, harsh and continuous, may be employed by the smallest of us and rarely fails of its purpose, for its silent power grows irresistibly greater with time.” Goethe

When they had the power, Mutants tried to tackle these types of problems and more. The Avengers stopped them with the help of Wakanda. Not sure why they'd try again.
