Gee, thanks for the nightmare fuel, Marvel. That's so helpful.
I loved Separation Anxiety and this Lovecraft's refereces.
God, symbiotes are cool now. Klyntar and Lovecraft are a great couple.
The Lovecraftian references in this story fit in very well, as well as the concepts of maternity and the need to belong. Also, I love the art, as everything, including Scream, look incredibly necrotic and vile, and everything seems to be cloaked in shadows.
"I should describe my known nature as tripartite, my interests consisting of three parallel and disassociated groups; a) love of the strange and the fantastic, b) love of abstract truth and scientific logic, c) love of the ancient and the permanent. Sundry combinations of these strains will probably account for my...odd tastes, and eccentricities."
Really enjoyed this. Dark moody, street level goodness. Great art and Story. Added to the pull list.
I really enjoyed this. I'm also wondering if the cover for issue #2 is hinting that Andi's mother is the red creature embracing Scream and, if she is, are they going to reveal that it is Grendel's mother? It would make sense since the symbiotes are now heavily tied to Beowulf myth via a health dose of Lovecraft. Plus Mother was the third and final antagonist along with Grendel and the Dragon.
Another hint to the 'mother's' identity is the fact that the symbiote was panicking when it came into contact with her. It obviously senses something that Andi can't.

Well, Andi seems to be doing pretty formidably as the newest Scream:
