Default GIANT-SIZED X-MEN: Magneto by Jonathan Hickman and Ben Oliver

    https://www.marvel.com/amp/articles/...ant-size-x-men

When GIANT-SIZE X-MEN hits stands next year, fans will get to see Jonathan Hickman’s bold vision for mutantkind unfold in epic adventures told by the industry’s most acclaimed artists. These large-scale but standalone stories will be specifically designed to highlight the artist’s talents, and each issue will focus on a specific character. And next March, Hickman will team up with legendary artist Ben Oliver to turn the spotlight on the Master of Magnetism in GIANT-SIZE X-MEN: MAGNETO #1!

Created by Stan Lee himself, Magneto’s been an fixture in the X-Men mythos since the very beginning. Although he debuted in 1963's UNCANNY X-MEN #1 as the X-Men’s premiere Super Villain, he eventually became one of their fiercest members. Via Chris Claremont’s pen, Magneto was equipped with a tragic backstory, shedding light on his motivations and developing him into one of the most complex characters in the Marvel Universe. An unrelenting champion for mutantkind, Magneto now finds himself leading a mutant nation once again—but this time, he has all of mutantkind including the X-Men standing at his side. Determined to make this new dream of Krakoa prosper, Magneto must now make dealings with his former sworn enemy—humanity!

Ben Oliver, known for his seminal work on ULTIMATE X-MEN, is the perfect artist to capture the emotion behind Magneto’s new role as mutant ambassador. “It's been many years since I last worked on an X-Men related project, and I couldn't be happier than to be working with Jonathan,” says Oliver. “I've long been a fan of Jonathan's work, and Magneto as a character, so to collaborate on this project is fantastic.”

GIANT-SIZE X-MEN: MAGNETO will be the second of five essential one-shots, with the first—GIANT-SIZE X-MEN: JEAN GREY AND EMMA FROST—debuting in February. Uniting Jonathan Hickman with the best artists in the industry, these stories are destined to be instant classics that fans won’t want to miss!

Somehow that cover does not feel like Magneto. The helmet is, the face not....

Hickman's Magneto is always great, so I'm looking forward to it. Hopefully Polaris will play some kind of role in this.

I am angry. Hickman is doing favoritism again.
First emma, now magneto. His favorites.
    His top 5 mutants.
    I don't like HoX/Pox.
    I need to fix it.
    god CC help us.
Just because I didn't wish you happy birthday you can't do this CC.
He is the rock that their island nation is built upon. The people of Krakoa know him and what he has done for them over the years, and they look up to him. He might not be RULING Krakoa, but he is definitely leading it.

Why shouldn't he do issues with his favourites, being the writer of the series?

I like Ben Oliver art (his Avalanche story in XMen Manifest Destiny was to die for) but he's hardly one of the industry most acclaimed artist. Wheres Coipel? Wheres Bachalo? Wheres Dell'Otto?

Im equally whelmed by chosing Magneto as the focus point. Let me guess next three issues will be Wolverine, Cyclops and Xavier?

Giant-sized Sinister should be fun. Imagine the issue is about a "giant-sized Sinister".lol.
    Or,
He's working on the possibility of Storm and old-cable's lineage.
